Border 2 is the much-anticipated film of 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film stars Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Dhawan in key roles. The film, scheduled for release on January 23, 206, also features Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Medha Rana as the female leads. The film’s song, Ghar Kab Aaoge, was recently released, and Varun Dhawan faced online trolling for his performance in the song.
As soon as the song, Ghar Kab Aaoge was released, a section of social media users criticised Varun Dhawan for his performance. One of the users asked, “Bhai aapki acting pe sawal utha rahe hai log, uske liye kya bologe.” Varun, who is known to never mince his words, reacts to the trolls and comments:
“Yehi sawaal ne gaana hit karadi, sab enjoy kar rahe hain, rab di mehar.”
Varun Dhawan will play the role of 'Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya'. Varun worked diligently to embody 'Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya', who led his troops with unflinching courage during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Colonel Dahiya was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his heroic act. Although Varun has been in the limelight amid the trolls, the actor is not fazed and is busy promoting his film.

As Varun has been trolled for his looks and performance in Border 2, producer Nidhi Dutt, daughter of filmmaker J.P. Dutta, strongly condemned the criticism. Resharing a post on X about a smear campaign against the actor, Nidhi wrote:
“Congratulations to all the ANTI NATIONALS THAT CAN PAY TO BRING DOWN AN ACTOR PLAYING A PVC OF THIS COUNTRY. This is YOUR FILM INDIA! Hope the audiences find and shame these people."
