Vadodara car crash, an incident which could have been avoided if the 20-year-old law student, Rakshit Chaurasia had not decided to drink and drive. A few seconds of some young adults' fun ruined the lives of many families. It was the evening of Holika Dahan when Rakshit's speeding car rammed into a scooter with two other vehicles. One woman died on the spot, while others were severely injured. However, it was Rakshit's insensitive remark that included 'another round' that left everyone extremely furious. 

Who was the woman killed in the Vadodara car crash

The 35-year-old Hemali Patel went out of her home with her husband, Purav Patel and their young daughter after Holika Dahan to buy colours. However, little did they know that their lives would forever change, and it would be their last ride together as Rakshit's speeding car rammed into their scooter on Vadodara's streets. 

Hemali, Purab and their daughter were thrown into the air by the overspeeding car before they crashed on the grounds. As per reports, Hemali died on the spot, and Purab is under treatment for critical injuries. Their daughter also suffered injuries in the crash, which left five more severely hurt. 

Eyewitness revealed the truth about the overspeeding car

While Rakshit Chaurasia has denied the claim of the overspeeding car, an eyewitness and the victim of the car crash, Vikash Kevlani, revealed the truth. In an interview with the ANI, Vikas claimed that the speeding car rear-ended them. He also revealed that the accused threatened them by stating he would fight it legally. Vikas was quoted as saying:

"I was with my brother Jayesh and sister Komal and neighbours Hemali Patel and Purav Patel. We were on two-wheelers when a speeding car rear-ended us. Fine is not the solution. Only if there is strict action will they understand what they have done. I want justice. Hemaliben was like my sister. She should get justice and the young generation should know the impact of such acts."

All about Vadodara car crash and Rakshit Chaurasia's insensitive comments 

The 20-year-old, Rakshit Chaurasi from Varanasi, has been studying law at MS University in Vadodara. On March 13, 2025, he rammed into multiple two-wheelers and killed a woman. However, the cruel part about the entire incident was a video, wherein Rakshit was heard shouting, 'Another round, another round', followed by a girl's name and an 'Om Namah Shivay. After which, the angry crowd thrashed him. 

On the other hand, Rakshit claimed that he was neither drunk nor speeding. In fact, he blamed the accident on the airbags and stated that he was overtaking a scooter, his vision was hampered, and the car went out of control. He was quoted as saying:

"We were overtaking a scooter, we turned right. There was a pothole and the car touched the other vehicle and the airbag opened. Our vision was hampered and the car went out of control. I was told that one woman has died and a few have sustained injuries. I want to meet the family of the victims, it is my fault."
