Vadodara Accident Accused, Rakshit Created Rucks At Streets Last Month, Police Left Him Post-Apology

The Vadodara accident case has shaken the entire nation as another college student claimed innocent lives after recklessly driving his car. Netizens were enraged when a video after the incident showcased the prime accused, Rakshit Chaurasia getting out of the car and shouting random words, creating further rucks on the streets. The increasing incidents of reckless driving by youngsters and the lack of strict action against them have created a rage across the country. Recently, a new update about the prime accused, Rakshit Chaurasia, has further added to people's fury.

Prime accused, Rakshit Chaurasia had a run-in with the cops last month

Rakshit Chaurasia, the 20-year-old law student and prime accused in the Vadodara accident case, was seen intoxicated immediately after the accident. A new report by NDTV revealed that this isn't the first incident with Rakshit involving the police. In fact, he had a close call with them in February 2025. The report shared that less than a month before Rakshit ran his car over multiple lives, leaving them injured and killing one in the Karelibaug area, he was involved in another case.

Rakshit and his friend were found creating rucks at a residential apartment in Fatehganj, where a lawyer had called the police to complain about him. The accused and his companions further threatened and abused him, and the police took them to Sayajiganj police station. However, they were allowed to leave after submitting a written apology. Moreover, the matter was solved with a compromise, and no complaint was filed.

What is the Vadodara accident case involving Rakshit Chaurasia?

The whole issue occurred on March 14, 2025, when Rakshit Chaurasia was intoxicated after allegedly consuming bhaang (cannabis) with his friends after he attended a Holika Dahan. He sat on the driving seat and sped up his Volkswagen to 120 km/h. After a point, he lost control of the car and rammed into two scooters, dragging the passengers. One woman named Hemaliben Patel, who went out to buy holi colours, died on the spot, and four others were left injured, including a 10-year-old girl. A viral video after the incident showed that Rakshit got out of the car and shouted things like "Another round?", "Nikita" and "Om Namah Shivay", fueling speculation that he was intoxicated.

More about Rakshit Chaurasia 

Rakshit Chaurasia is originally from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and has been studying law. His family runs a taps business, and he was living in a guest accommodation in Vadodara. His LinkedIn profile stated that he studied at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and has pursued a five-year course since 2021. After the incident, when he was in a conscious condition to speak, Rakshit gave an interview to ANI and explained:

"There were no people then, just a scooter and a car. I had no idea. I did not do any party; I went for Holika Dahan and was not drunk... Today, I was told that one woman has died, and a few have sustained injuries. I want to meet the family of the victims; it is my fault, and whatever they want should happen."
