In 2023, she was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, for her exceptional contributions to the arts. Recently, the 76-year-old singer surprised everyone with one of her live performances.

A video has been going viral on social media featuring the legendary singer, Usha Uthup, singing the pop singer, Miley Cyrus’s popular song, Flowers. The Indian singer oozed elegance in a red saree adorned with golden stripe detailing, which she paired with a black blouse. She completed her look with her signature huge bindi, gajra-adorned hair, and a few pieces of gold jewellery. The video was shot during an event held in Kolkata’s Trincas restaurant.

Usha Uthup had set the stage on fire with the soulful rendition of the Grammy-winning song, Flowers. In the video, the audience can be heard cheering for the singer. The video, which has now garnered over 2 million views, was uploaded by a person named Meghdut Roy Chowdhury on his Instagram account. He captioned the post as:

“She wears Flowers in her hair and sings Flowers by @mileycyrus. Never thought I'd get to witness this. And yes this is an Usha Uthup fan page now! Deal with it.”

For those who don’t know, the American singer and songwriter, Miley Cyrus just won a Grammy for her chartbuster song, Flowers. The song from the singer’s 2023 album, Endless Summer Vacation was named ‘Record of the Year’ at the 2024 Grammys. Miley’s song was nominated amongst the tracks of acclaimed singers, such as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Doja Cat. During her acceptance speech, Miley said:
