Urvashi Rautela is one of the most well-known actresses in terms of controversies. She began her career in pageantry and made her way to showbiz in 2013. But, despite her work, Urvashi's real life has been a bigger subject of discussion. In the past few days, the actress's interview comments and criticism of her song, Dabidi Dibidi's choreography has dominated headlines. After being quiet for a while, Urvashi Rautela finally expressed her surprise at the song receiving hate in an interview and admitted that no one from their team anticipated that response.
Urvashi Rautela's song, Dabidi Dibidi, was made for the film, Daaku Maharaaj. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, she revealed that they made the song for the film's lead star, Nandamuri Balakrishna's fans. Consequently, every step, audio and more was designed to focus on their mindset. At the same time, when she rehearsed for the song, the practice went smoothly, like any other choreography. So, it's difficult for her to understand why the song received hate. In her words:
"It wasn't like I was shocked or doing something completely out of the ordinary. During rehearsals, everything was smooth and under control. But honestly, everything happened so suddenly that it's been hard to assess why people are talking about the choreography in this way."
Urvashi Rautela added when things went well behind the scenes, the team expected the song to be a famous 'peppy' hit. Everyone believed that Dabidi Dibidi would be taken positively by the audience, and one expected that fans would criticise the song to a great extent. However, the actress revealed that she read about the perspectives of the song's audience, too. She said:
"Since day one, I have always made sure to keep my identity and professionalism separate. Whatever constructive criticism comes my way, I make sure it doesn't overshadow my passion and enthusiasm. I always embrace constructive criticism as an artist and remain mindful of my work."
In the same interview, when Urvashi was asked if she would be more careful about the choreography in future, she gave an unexpected response. The actress mentioned that her choreography was simple, and she doesn't feel there is anything wrong with her individual steps. Urvashi explained:
"When you talk about my choreography, it's actually very simple. There's nothing wrong with it. In fact, if you just focus on me in the frame, you'll see that it's really fantastic."
For those unaware, Dabidi Dibidi song, was composed by S. Thaman for Daaku Maharaaj. It came under criticism because the audiences felt the moves in the song were 'cringe', 'vulgar' and 'inappropriate'. Particularly, the song's parts where 64-year-old lead actor, Nandamuri Balakrishna was seen hitting Urvashi's belly. However, the actor and filmmaker have been silent over the whole issue.
