Samanatha Ruth Prabhu’s wedding to Raj Nidimoru raised many eyebrows, apparently because of reports that he had cheated on his ex-wife, Shyamali De, for Samantha. After months of speculation and sharing cosy pictures together, Samantha and Raj finally tied the knot on December 1, 2025, in an intimate ceremony.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu met Raj for the first time when she starred in their popular show, The Family Man 2. Soon, a friendship developed between the two, and he cast Samantha in Citadel: Honey Bunny. It was on the sets of Citadel where the duo reportedly started developing feelings for each other.

Now, an unseen video of Raj with his ex-wife, Shyyamali, is doing rounds on social media, which was once shared by Samantha. The video is from the success of the show Farzi, created by Raj and DK. In the video, the entire set of Farzi and Citadel was seen cheering for Raj and DK. Raj was also accompanied by his wife, Shyyamali, who happily cut the cake with him as the couple smiled their hearts out. However, the interesting part was that the video was apparently shot by Samanatha herself.

In 2021, Samantha had a public divorce from Naga Chaitanya and went through a traumatic phase. It was during that time that she was offered The Family Man. Soon, she was also signed for Raj and DK’s spy series, Citadel: Honey Bunny.

However, soon many cosy pictures of Samantha and Raj started surfacing on social media, raising questions about whether the filmmaker had cheated on his wife, Shyyamali, with Samantha. Soon, a source confirmed to Pinkvilla that Raj and Shyyamali were no longer together. As per the source:

“Raj got officially divorced from Shhyamali in 2022 and found love in Samantha after they collaborated for Citadel.”

Raj got married to Shhyamali De, who has worked as an Assistant Director in Delhi 6, Rang De Basanti, and as an Associate Director in Dabangg 2. The duo tied the knot in 2015 and has no kids. Shhyamali is quite active on Instagram and often posts romantic pictures with Raj.

Once, in an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Raj Nidimoru opened up about his wife, Shhyamali De's, contribution to his successful career as a filmmaker. The filmmaker admitted that his wife constantly guides him and his team in the casting decisions. Sharing how his wife keeps him grounded, Raj said:

"Shhyamali De, my wife, constantly advises me about casting. She comes from a non-filmy background, so she keeps us grounded always."
