Amid Kiss Controversy, Udit Narayan Lands In Legal Trouble As First Wife Files A Case Against Him

Udit Narayan is one of the most talented singers in Bollywood, whose songs never skip a chance to spread a magical aura around. It was a few days ago when Udit landed himself in deep-neck controversy as a clip of his surfaced online, featuring him kissing a female fan on her lips. Such a video has raised eyebrows, and Udit Narayan was bashed. Amid this, Udit now is dragged into legal troubles as his first wife, Ranjana filed a maintenance case against him.

As per the recent reports, Udit Narayan's first wife, Ranjana Jha filed a maintenance case against him and accused him of illegally taking her property. Udit Narayan reached the Supaul Family Court on February 21, 2025, and he refused settlement in this case. As per a report by the Navbharat Times, Udit alleged that his first wife attempted to extort money from him. For the unversed, earlier, a case against Udit Narayan was filed at the Bihar Women’s Commission. Well, back at that time, a settlement took place between the singer and his first wife.

As per the same report, Ranjana Jha, through her lawyer, expressed her wish to spend the next days of her life with Udit Narayan, citing her deteriorating health issues. After she arrived at the court, she talked to the media, wherein she revealed that the singer was ignoring her and even kept Rs. 18 lakhs, which she got from selling her land.

Ranjana Jha also accused that several goons remain after her whenever she comes to Mumbai. The same report revealed that Udit Narayan used to give Ranjana Rs. 15K for maintenance, which increased to Rs. 25K in 2021. The singer even reportedly gave farming land to Ranjana and a house worth Rs. 1 crore. Well, the Bihar Women’s Commission found out that Udit had given jewellery and lands worth Rs. 25 lakh to Ranjana, which she later sold.

Udit Narayan got married to Deepa Gahatraj back in 1985, and two years later, they welcomed a son. Well, back in 2006, a massive controversy began as Ranjana Jha Narayan openly announced herself to be Udit's first wife. It happened during one of the shows of the singer in Patna. Udit first denied the claims, but months later he accepted it and promised to give Ranjana maintenance. Ranjana reportedly shared that Udit married her in 1984, and said that he was going to Mumbai to get more opportunities. However, he kept Ranjana in the dark about his second marriage and didn't even give her a divorce.
