Homeless 'Ned's Declassified' Star Tylor Chase 'Trashed' Motel Room After Ex Co-star Checked Him In

Another heartbreaking update has left fans more concerned about former Nickelodeon star Tylor Chase. The popular Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide alum, who played ‘Martin Qwerly’ in the show, sparked a firestorm on the internet after a TikTok influencer discovered him on the streets of Riverside, California, looking disheveled and living unhoused. Despite his former colleagues’ attempts to help him, it seems like Chase doesn’t really want the assistance.

Daniel Curtis Lee, who played Chase's on-screen friend, ‘Cookie’, on Ned’s Declassified, has now revealed that his effort to get his fellow castmate off the streets ended in complete chaos just hours after checking him into a motel.

Daniel Curtis Lee reveals that Tylor Chase destroyed the motel room where he had been checked in

After seeing the viral TikTok video, actor Daniel Curtis Lee drove roughly 50 miles from Los Angeles to Riverside to find Chase. With a heavy storm approaching, he offered his former castmate shelter and brought him a hearty meal. He also paid for the motel room, hoping to provide him with temporary shelter as the situation stabilises. However, what happened next shocked him.

On Christmas Day 2025, Lee hopped on social media to share a heartbreaking update on his former co-star, Tylor Chase, after checking him into a motel room. While things seemed to go smoothly at first, with clips showing Tylor hugging Daniel and chatting with him, it didn’t last long. Lee revealed that the motel management contacted him with alarming reports, just hours after Chase checked in.

The staff said the door to the room had been left wide open, the refrigerator had been flipped upside down, and the microwave had been placed inside the bathtub. Lee later shared photos and details of the damage on social media, calling the experience devastating but not surprising, as he had done similar things before. He admitted:

“I really thought this time might be different. I was wrong.”

Tylor Chase’s family hints at a pattern of refusing medication

With the industry’s curiosity at its peak, Chase’s family has spoken up about his years of battle with mental health and substance abuse. The actor’s parents revealed that he had been suffering from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder for more than a decade, compounded by his drug problem. Both his parents have spoken up about their repeated attempts to treat him, many of which ended as Chase either stopped medication or declined care altogether.

According to local authorities in Riverside, outreach teams frequently see Chase on the streets and have repeatedly offered him shelter, mental health assistance, and drug treatment, but he has refused each time. In fact, the TikToker who had recognised Chase in September 2025 had started a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial aid to the former child actor.

Though fans actively contributed to the cause and the campaign raised over USD 1,200, the actor’s mother requested that the campaign be shut down, stating, "Tylor needs medical attention, not money." She explained that he is unable to manage his medication or finances, adding that giving him money would do him more harm than good. She mentioned getting him several phones for staying in touch, but he lost each one within a couple of days.

Other stars try to help

Lee isn’t the only former child star who has tried to intervene. Shaun Weiss, best known as goalie ‘Greg Goldberg’ from The Mighty Ducks, publicly offered Chase a bed at a detox facility in San Clemente, drawing on his own recovery journey. So far, Chase has declined that offer as well. Other Ned’s Declassified alums have also expressed concerns for the actor.

As of late December, Chase remains homeless in Southern California. Those who care about him say they haven’t given up hope, but they’re also realistic about what they can do.
