As per a report in ETimes, Bhupinder has been charged with the murder of Govind Singh, three days after he shot dead the man and injured three others. The reports claim that the 54-years-old actor, Bhupinder had indiscriminately fired with his licensed gun on his neighbours on December 3, 2023, which resulted in such a brutal situation. He had three accomplices with him, including Gyan Singh, Jivan Singh and Gurjant Singh, who were armed with lathis during the incident. All of them have been arrested under the charges of Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (provocation), and 34 (criminal act by several persons) of the IPC. In addition, the police have also initiated action to cancel the actor’s arms license.
For the unversed, the actor recently returned to his native village in Kuankheda, Bijnor, where he owns more than 500 bighas of agricultural land. And as per the report, the dispute began between the neighbours since October 17, 2023. The police were also informed at that time about Bhupinder's intention to cut down a few eucalyptus trees along the boundary of the two households due to the fencing.

According to Bijnor SP, Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, he had issued a “task order” a few days ago to resolve the matter amicably, but local police did not take any action seriously. He added, “The dispute should not have escalated. It was the duty of the local cops to facilitate talks, but they were negligent.” Thus, the SP had to suspend three officers for the same. The victim's mother, Meera Bai revealed that her family had earlier informed police about the conflict but received no help from them.
