Bollywood actors, Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan were not on talking terms for almost 16 long years. For the unversed, after co-starring each other in Yash Chopra’s 1993 film, Darr, they reportedly had a feud between them. As per many reports, although Sunny was given the lead role of the hero, he felt SRK got the meatier part in the film. Fast forward to now, they have resolved the feud between them. Post-marking his presence at Sunny's grand success party of Gadar 2, Shah Rukh was also spotted hugging his co-star.
In a recent interview on Ishaan Verma's podcast, action director, Tinu Verma opened up about the real incident that had happened between Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol on the sets of Yash Chopra's Darr. Tinu recalled that it began with a tiff between the two actors' opinions about their parts for a scene in the film. Explaining the action scene, Tinu mentioned that SRK wanted to attack Sunny from the front. But Sunny was of the opinion that since he was playing the role of a 'Commando', he shouldn't be attacked from the front.

However, Tinu revealed that Aditya Chopra was adamant on his decision that Sunny would be attacked from the front and was unable to understand the actor's logic. This led to a heated argument between the cast and crew of the film. The situation further got tense as SRK was stubborn and refused to budge from attacking Sunny's onscreen character from behind. Thus, further adding, Tinu said:
"Sunny said he can’t attack me from the front because I am a naval officer. Sunny was right in his logic. Shah Rukh said I am not Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Gulshan Grover that I will attack on the back. Sunny got so angry eventually that he had his hands in his pocket, and he pushed is hands so hard that his pants tore. Everybody was shocked. Shah Rukh was also there. And then pack-up was announced."
When Sunny Deol graced the popular show, Aap Ki Adaalat, he talked about what actually happened that led to a 16 years feud between him and Shah Rukh Khan. He revealed why the two actors did not speak to each other for a long time. Revealing the reason behind the incident, Sunny shared:
"I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried explaining that I am a commando officer in the film. My character is an expert and fit, then how can this boy beat me easily? He can beat me if I can’t see him. If he can stab me while I am looking at him, then I won’t be called a commando. Soon, out of anger, I didn’t even realise that I had ripped my pants with my hands. It’s not that I didn’t talk but I just cut myself off and I anyway don’t socialise much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat he nahi hai."
