Govinda, born Govind Arun Ahuja, is an actor and politician. The actor, over the years, has gained immense love from his fans and has done 150+ films in his acting career. He is known for his satirical performances and dance skills. He was the leading actor throughout the 90s and still is an inspiration for all the upcoming actors. He was last seen in Sikander Bharti's 2019 comedy-drama, Rangeela Raja.
Govinda's daughter, Tina Ahuja, earlier shared that her father, Govinda's busy schedule kept him away from his family as he was at the peak of his career during the 1990s. Tina also shared that as a kid, she was closer to her mother as she was the primary caregiver when she was little. However, in an interview with Hauterrfly, the former actress opened up about Govinda's particular nature regarding his daughter, Tina's weight and figure when she was a teenager.
Tina recalled how her health issues had caused her to gain excessive weight when she was a teen. She added that her father was very particular about her figure and used to tell her to lose weight. Tina revealed that Govinda called her out on her weight and told her that girls should keep their weight in check. She was quoted saying:
"For my teens, my father was very particular about my figure and weight. He used to tell me, lose your weight, your stomach is growing out. I remember I went to Switzerland for a shoot for him. I loved the milk there. He was shooting and I was having milk and hot chocolate and by the time we went to London from Switzerland, my pants were not fitting me. He was like girls should look beautiful and have their weight in check."
Tina Ahuja revealed that she would discuss her weight gain with her father, Govinda, and the actor would help her understand how to lose weight. Tina explained that her father helped her understand how to take baby steps towards her weight loss journey. In an earlier interview, Tina talked about the cause behind her weight gain. She shared that she suffered a severe nerve spasm after an accident, which led to significant weight gain. Tina Ahuja made her Bollywood debut in 2015 alongside Punjabi actor, Gippy Grewal and Dharmendra in the romantic-comedy, Second Hand Husband. However, the acting route didn't seem satisfying to her. Tina now works with her father, Govinda and assists him with his projects.
Tina Ahuja had previously revealed that her father was rarely home during her childhood. She shared that the actor's busy schedule kept him away from his family as he was at the peak of his career during the 1990s. Tina also shared that as a kid, she was closer to her mother as she was the primary caregiver when she was little. However, things changed as she developed a bond with her father later in life when she started managing his work.
