Both Peg Munson and Cindy Angelyck Cullers were the last ladies standing. Peg Munson has an interesting professional journey, from a firefighter to a dancer

Peg Munson has one of the most interesting professional backgrounds among all the contestants of The Golden Bachelor. Initially, her career began with high-stakes, adrenaline-inducing jobs. Peg was a firefighter and a bomb technician with the City of Las Vegas Fire Department for 22 years. Apart from that, Peg is also a trained dancer who has worked with the High Rollers, Las Vegas' dance team with over 50 members.

Now, Peg's career has taken another drastic turn. According to her Instagram bio, she specializes in real estate and practices as a realtor and interior designer. Her work and remodelling projects take up a significant amount of space on her Instagram page. According to her Zillow account, Peg has sold over 30 properties in Las Vegas. 

Peg Munson is a divorcee like Mel Owens, and has a daughter from her previous marriage 

Mel Owens, the star of The Golden Bachelors, was married to Fabiana Pimentel, a businesswoman of Brazillian descent. The two had tied the knot in 2002 and share two sons. In 2020, the couple separated, with Fabiana filing for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalised in 2024, and within six months, ABC announced that Mel Owens would star in The Golden Bachelor. 

On the dating show, Mel Owens met Peg Munson, a divorced, single parent like him. She has a daughter named Dakota from her first marriage. However, not much is known about Peg's ex-husband. The mother and daughter duo are also business associates, with Dakota running the design division of Peg Munson Realtors. 

Peg Munson's disease and her legal battle 

At the age of 58, Peg Munson was diagnosed with heart disease in 2021, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The disease, rendering her unfit to continue her intense job as a firefighter, had led Peg to apply for permanent disability. After her request was denied, she pursued legal action. However, in 2025, the Nevada Court of Appeals ruled in Peg's favour. Hence, Peg Munson is to be credited for the fact that retired police officers, fire responders, and arson specialists with over 20 years of service are now eligible for disability compensation.
