'Border 2' First Look Out, Diljit Dosanjh's Fierce Look Impresses Internet, Fans Say, 'Blockbuster'

Since the past few months, Diljit Dosanjh has been grabbing a lot of attention for his role in the film, Border 2. In mid-2025, multiple reports surfaced, which suggested that the Punjabi singer had been dropped from the sequel of the 1997 film. However, Diljit had shared a BTS video from the film, reassuring his fans. Since then, fans have been waiting for the film, and the wait is finally over as the first look of Diljit from Border 2 is out. 

Diljit Dosanjh’s fierce first look in Border 2

On December 1, 2025, the makers of the film, Border 2, took to their Instagram handles and shared the first look of Diljit Dosanjh as a fighter pilot. In the first look, Diljit is shown in an Indian-Air Force-style flight suit and helmet. He is inside a jet cockpit and his face has both blood and dirt, which suggested that he went through a violent war. The background also features enemy planes and explosions. But what grabs attention is the fierce, raw and intense look of Diljit.

It is worth mentioning that Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J. P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, under the banner of T-Series and J.P. Films. Apart from Diljit Dosanjh, the sequel of the 1997 film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and more. The film, Border 2 will be released in theatres on January 23, 2026. 

Controversy around Diljit Dosanjh’s exit from Border 2

In mid-2025, Diljit Dosanjh’s film, Sardaar Ji was released, which sparked a major controversy online. The reason behind the same was that the film starred Hania Aamir in the film. This happened during the Pahalgam attack. And when tension rose, viewers demanded the exit of Diljit Dosanjh from Border 2. Later, when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) urged the makers to drop the Punjabi singer. Later, when the producers of the film requested FWICE, Diljit was allowed to continue shooting the film. However, the rumours did not stop and to shut them down, Diljit shared some BTS clips from the set, confirming his role in Border 2.

The first look of the film, Border 2 was officially dropped by T-Series and within a few minutes of its release, it went viral on social media. Several users shared their thoughts on Diljit's look. One user commented, "Bahot badiya lag rahi hai Border 2 .. is movie ka intezaar sabhi kar rahe hai." Another user shared, "Blockbuster". A third user penned, "Biggest movie of 2026." A fourth user commented, "A perfect person always gets the perfect role."

Diljit Dosanjh is a popular Punjabi singer, actor and producer, who works in both Punjabi and Hindi cinema. For those who don't know, he started his career as a singer and soon became one of the most popular Punjabi singers.
