In an interview with Firstpost, Sadia shared that the director was sure that she and Uzma Ahmed wouldn't meet until the promotions began. The reason for this was that the director wanted Sadia to be that person even before meeting Uzma through her own experiences. Not only meeting, but also the director even prohibited Sadia from reading books or Google about Uzma. In Sadia's words:
"So he made sure that I don’t read about her or even google about her. I met her just this month only during the promotional events. And, that was the first time I met her. I was really surprised to see my director’s vision that how he had described her to me was exactly the way she was in real life."
Going further in the interview, Sadia Khateeb was asked if she had met Uzma Ahmed in real life. Sadia revealed that it was only during the promotion of the movie that they met. Sadia also asked Uzma about her current mental state, to which India's daughter said that she's healed now. Sadia further revealed that the journey that Uzma went through surely had been traumatic for her, and the actress believes that she's a courageous woman. Sadia could be quoted as saying:
"When she first came back to India, she was obviously heartbroken and traumatised. But now after all these years have passed, she said, “I’ve healed.” And I’m also happy to see that she has healed. It’s been many years quite many years for a person to heal from that journey and that kind of emotional and physical trauma. I believe she’s truly a very courageous woman."

Sadia further mentioned that most people who would have given up this type of situation might have given up, but the way Uzma held her courage throughout, has always been inspiring.
In the same interview, Sadia revealed what traumatised her while working on this film. She said that while this story was known to many, the fact that she had to live through it actually left a mark. She also talked about how it might have left a traumatic mark on Uzma's life.
