The film promises a paranormal romance involving vampires. While the MHCU gave multiple hits earlier, the expectation surrounding Thamma was also much higher. In order to win the hearts of the audience, the makers tried to incorporate new things into the horror comedy universe. Speaking to Variety, producer, Dinesh Vijan, highlighted the same. He mentioned that Thamma holds a new dimension and is not a repetition of their early works. He was quoted as saying:
"This is one you can watch with your entire family — it’s extremely funny. Every film has to feel different. Thamma adds another dimension without repeating what we’ve done before. The long and short of it is, we can’t be repetitive."
