'Thalaivan Thalaivii' OTT Release: When And Where To Watch Vijay Sethupathi And Nithya Menen's Film

After charming the audience with their performance in 19(1)(a), Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen came back on screen together for the Tamil-language film, Thalaivan Thalaivii. This rom-com and family drama film, directed by Pandiraj, was released on July 25, 2025. With Vijay and Nithya's chemistry and comic scenes getting raving reviews from the audience, here's when you can stream the film and on which OTT platform. 

Thalaivan Thalaivii will be available to stream in multiple languages 

As per reports, Amazon Prime Video has bought the streaming rights of Pandiraj's Tamil-language film, Thalaivan Thalaivii. The reports also suggest that the romantic drama film will be available on this particular OTT platform from August 22, 2025. Apart from its original language, the film can also be in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada on the digital space. 

Thalaivan Thalaivii was made with a budget of approximately Rs. 30 crores and minted around Rs. 75 crores, as reported by Hindustan Times. Although some aspects of the film were criticised, most viewers loved the movie, making it a commercial success. After a successful theatrical run, the film starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen is also set to dominate the digital space. 

More about the film, Thalaivan Thalaivii 

In the film, Vijay Sethupathi portrays the character of 'Agasaveeran', a small-time businessman who runs a tiffin centre alongside his family. He gets married to 'Perarasi a.k.a Arasi', played by Nithya Menen. They start their marital life smoothly, but soon there's some trouble in paradise. The newlyweds start sparring over trivial and strange matters. As a result, they separate from each other for three months and apply for a divorce. Their fights also expand to their families, and everyone gets involved. 

The best part of the film is the chemistry between Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, which makes their characters even more convincing and authentic. Due to this, their comedy scenes also flow naturally without any over-the-top punchlines. Vijay also does an amazing job portraying the conflict of trying to be a good husband and a good son. Nithya, on the other hand, does a phenomenal job of showcasing the nuances of her character.

Upcoming movies of Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen

As per reports, Vijay Sethupathi has a number of films in the pipeline. In October 2025, he will reportedly be seen opposite Aditi Rao Hydari in Gandhi Talks. Reports also suggest that it is the first Indian silent film which will be screened at the International Film Festival of India. Apart from that, Vijay Sethupathi, who played an important role in the film Vikram, which is part of the Lokesh Universe, will be seen in other movies of this franchise directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. 

Nithya Menen and Dhanush, whose chemistry was well-loved in the 2022 movie, Thiruchitrambalam, will grace the screens again with their next film together, Idli Kadai. This Tamil language film will reportedly release around October, 2025. Along with that, Nithya will be seen in many other regional language films, such as Ravi Varma in Telugu, Wonder Women in Malayalam, among more.
