Taylor Swift has once again proven that she is not only the queen of music but a queen of hearts as well. The 35-year-old pop sensation recently made a silent donation of a whopping USD 100,000 to the GoFundMe of a two-year-old girl, Lilah, who is battling stage 4 brain cancer. The donation came to public attention only days after the toddler’s mother shared the news on her TikTok.
On Friday, October 17, 2025, Taylor silently donated USD 100,000 to the GoFundMe of Lilah, just days after Lilah’s mother, Katelynn Smoot, shared a TikTok showing her daughter calling Swift her ‘friend’ while watching the singer’s music video. The Willow singer left a heartfelt message alongside her donation:
“Sending the biggest hug to my friend, Lilah! Love, Taylor.”
Since Taylor’s donation, Swifties rallied behind the cause and donated in increments of USD 13, the pop star’s lucky number. Within hours, the GoFundMe surpassed its USD 100,000 goal. In the now-viral TikTok, little Lilah, from her hospital bed, was watching Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia video and joyfully declaring, “That’s my friend!” Speaking about how Lilah became a ‘mini Swiftie’ before birth, her mom wrote:
"Lilah's name was originally going to be Willow. We were set on that name my whole pregnancy, but ultimately ended on Lilah. I listened to Taylor my whole pregnancy and then birthed a mini Swiftie. Lilah loves Taylor’s music, and during her cancer treatment, she always found joy in it. I hope Lilah gets through this diagnosis and gets to one day go to a Taylor Swift concert in person. I know she would love it."
According to her GoFundMe page, little Lilah is battling an extremely rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, with only 58 known cases reported in the U.S. last year. While she has already had a brain mass removed and is recovering well, her journey is far from over. Her treatment plan now includes months of chemotherapy, stem cell therapy and proton radiation.
The campaign has now raised over USD 167,000 from over 2,000 donations and continues to grow. With the target reached, the amount would significantly help finance Lilah’s expensive treatment. After the overwhelming response that Swift’s donation brought, the toddler’s emotional mother wrote in a follow-up post:

“Thank you so so much @taylorswift. I am in shock. This means so much to us. I can’t express in words how incredibly grateful we are. Tyler [Lilah's father] and I can just focus on our baby girl and being together as a family. I can’t stop crying. You have given us such a beautiful gift. Thank you!”
Taylor Swift continues to embody compassion and empathy, often making generous contributions in silence. She even donated a staggering USD 5 million for hurricane relief in 2024 and made multiple contributions to children’s hospitals. Just recently, her vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium otter T-shirt massively boosted the donations for the conservation of sea otters.
While filming The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, Taylor wore the vintage 1990s tee, after which the California-based aquarium noticed a surge in donations. On October 16, 2025, the aquarium reissued the shirt as part of a fundraiser inspired by Swift’s latest album, with a USD 1.3 million target. Within a day, the campaign has surpassed the goal to raise USD 2.2 million.
