Taylor Swift On Being 'Too Locked In' To Perform At Super Bowl As Bad Bunny Steps In For The Show

Taylor Swift has been in her 'showgirl' mode as she has been making rounds for her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. Ever since the album was released on October 3, 2025, the singer has been busy with promotions, and she has impressed in every single interview so far. Now, the singer appeared for a candid conversation with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and has addressed one of the biggest buzz around her: Why is Taylor Swift not performing at the Super Bowl halftime show?

Taylor Swift revealed why she is not performing at the Super Bowl

Ever since Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce, fans have become ever so hopeful that they will finally get to see her perform at the Super Bowl. However, once again, their hopes crashed as Bad Bunny was announced as the performer for this year's Super Bowl. Now, during the conversation with Jimmy Fallon, Taylor finally revealed why she won't be performing at the halftime show and stated:

"Jay-Z has always been very good to me — our [business] teams are really close. They sometimes will call and say, 'How does she feel about… [she murmurs something vague, meaning 'whatever']. And that's not, like, an official offer or a conference-room conversation, more 'How does she feel about it in general?'"

In the same conversation, Taylor Swift revealed that another reason she is not a fan of the idea is that the man she loves plays that sport. The singer acknowledged that Travis Kelce gives his all to the game, and she is 'locked in' on what he is doing rather than planning her own performance during the sport. She was quoted as saying:

"And we're always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field, like, [professional football] is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. I am, for the whole season, locked in on what that man is doing on the field."

Taylor Swift further explained that for her, it just doesn't make sense to interject Travis' space with her own choreography for the performance and take away from his moment. She also shared that Travis would have loved for her to perform. However, so just doesn't feel like she is in the space to perform when it comes to his game. She was quoted as saying:

"Can you imagine if he's out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I'm like, 'I wonder what my choreo should be? I think we should do two verses of Shake It Up, into Blank Space, into Cruel Summer, that would be great!' This has nothing to do with Travis — he would love for me to do it. But I'm just too locked in."

The singer opted for a Giuseppe Di Morabito dress, which retails for USD 1,281, and matching silver Jimmy Choo shoes, priced at USD 1,125. The singer paired the dress with diamond drop earrings and a silver diamond bangle. The Artifex Fine engagement ring by Kindred Lubeck still remained the highlight of her look.
