Blake Lively's Feud With Taylor Swift Threatening Her Career? No Contact After Lawsuit Controversy

Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s friendship and support were once an inspiration for women out there. Once a godmother to Blake’s kids, Taylor has now closed the door of friendship for her. After a controversy involving Taylor, their decade-old friendship reached an end. As per some reports, they had a ‘low-key’ reunion after the controversy of Lively and It Ends With Us director, Justin Baldoni. Blake is reportedly hurt that their friendship is over, but she is also worried this may have repercussions on her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds' career, because Taylor has a strong influence over Hollywood.

How it all started between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively?

Taylor and Blake’s sisterly bond ended after Blake’s controversial feud with Justin Badoni. The castmates have been in a heated legal feud since December 2024, when Lively first filed a complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department, accusing him of s*xual harassment on the set of the film, which he also directed. Baldoni hit back with a 400 million countersuit in January 2025, claiming she was extorting and defaming him. 

Justin Baldoni, in his filing, also revealed that Blake used her friendship with Taylor to intimidate him. Some texts were also released as a part of a case that showed how Lively referred to her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Swift as her ‘dragons.’ As per the suit, she used her name to intimidate him and claimed that Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons', who are currently among the two most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, and were not afraid to make things very difficult for him.

When Baldoni, visited Lively and Reynold’s penthouse in New York, Swift was also present. He said that both his ‘dragons’, Taylor and Reynolds, praised Lively’s changes for the scene in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel. “I really love what you did. It really does help a lot,” Baldoni wrote in a text. “Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan or Taylor).”

Blake and Swift’s friendship was once celebrated, and they were nearly inseparable until now. They supported each other and even involved their families in their friendship. After the release of Swift’s 12th studio album, fans started connecting songs like Ruin the Friendship and Cancelled with Lively’s real-life controversies, including a legal dispute involving actor Justin Baldoni. According to the source, Blake wanted to reconnect with Taylor and asked mutual friends to connect them, but they refused, fearing it might upset Taylor and damage their careers. Taylor has a huge influence; if Hollywood were a high school, she’d be the head cheerleader, said the source. 

Adding another layer to the drama, Blake is also concerned that Taylor’s relationship with Travis Kelce could harm her husband Ryan’s reputation and career. She feels that Taylor already has a strong influence over Hollywood, and now her presence is also growing in the sports industry, making her influence even more powerful. Neither Taylor nor Blake has openly talked about the feud, making these just speculations.
