Taha Shah Badussha has been leading all the headlines with his masterclass performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The internet has tagged Taha Shah as the 'new crush'. For the unversed, Taha played the role of 'Nawab Tajdar Baloch'. Taha Shah made his debut with the romantic comedy, Luv Ka The End. Apart from that, he was also seen in Gippi. However, in a recent interview, Taha Shah said that he was heartbroken after his minor role in Heeramandi was rejected. The actor also shared how it felt when he was offered the opportunity to act in the lead role of the series.
Recently, Taha Shah Badussha sat for an interview with The Indian Express, wherein he shared that initially, he was offered the role of 'Bajraj', i.e., 'Tajdar’s friend in Heeramandi. Talking about his look test, Taha Shah added that he was left with a broken heart when, at the end of the test, SLB told him that he was not selected for this part. Taha mentioned that he felt dejected. The young actor added that such things happen to him as he used to face rejections. Taha Saha mentioned:
"After the look test, When Sanjay sir told me, ‘You’re not doing this part.’ My heart broke. I felt dejected. I was used to being removed from projects and facing rejections. Pehle bhi nikala gaya tha. Yeh sab hot rehta that mere saath."

Going forward in the interview, Taha Shah revealed that he was in complete shock soon after the SLB told him that he was not selected for 'Bajraj' but for the lead, 'Tajdar' in Heeramandi. He added that for someone who has been struggling to make a place in the industry and to play different kinds of roles, accepting a role from a prolific filmmaker like SLB was something unexpected. Taha Shah said:
"He told me ‘I saw something in your eyes and I want you to play Tajdar.’ For someone, who has been struggling and striving to play different kinds of roles, this was a complete shock for me. Achanak se mujh lead bana rahe hain. Iske phele kabhi aisa nahin hua."
In the same interview, Taha Shah revealed that while shooting was going on, Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn't talk to him directly for the first two days and used to ask his assistant, Amrinder to instruct the young actor. Speaking along the same lines, Taha Shah shared that it was on the third day when SLB took him aside and asked why the former didn't talk to him. Taha stated that SLB asked him to sit near him and observe him. He also called himself lucky for not getting scolded by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

In the same interview, Taha Shah shared that he was touched after he received texts from Babil Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh after they watched his role in Heeramandi. The actor mentioned that it was the best thing when other actors appreciated new-age actors. Speaking along the same lines, Taha added that he had a heart-to-heart conversation with Babil Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh. He also shared that he cannot help but eavesdrop when his mom talks to others about him with much pride. Taha Shah added:
"It is a success for my family. I see my mother overjoyed and swell with pride as she talks about me to others. I simply eavesdrop."
