However, as the show grew and years passed, several cast members said goodbye, while some fans grew with the changes; others felt the essence of the show had changed. And now, the show's producer, Asit Modi, has commented on how long he plans on keeping the show running.

One of India's most beloved sitcoms, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been entertaining audiences for many years. The show first premiered in 2008, and soon became every child's favourite dinner company. From waiting for new shows to watching repeats on Sunday, an entire generation grew up alongside 'Tapu Sena'. However, over the last few years, many actors on this series have left, and while its popularity has not decreased.

There have been questions regarding the run of the show. Well, now in a candid conversation, the show's producer, Asit Modi, has stated how long this series will continue. Asit Kumar Modi attended the Indian Television Academy's 25th anniversary celebration. And during his appearance, the beloved director of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Asit Modi, commented on the show's run and whether it will be coming to an end anytime soon.

During the interaction, Asit Kumar Modi revealed that he will try and run the show for as long as possible. He added that while the trends have changed, the audience's love for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has remained the same. He was quoted as saying:

"The show is still going on, and we will continue to do it as long as we can. I see that people still love it, and 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma' is the only show that gives laughter and joy. I am happy that people watch it with great interest. It is not just a show but a brand, which is still getting immense love from the audience. I have made it with a lot of hard work, and my team also works very hard."

Asit Kumar Modi on the relationship between TV and OTT

During his appearance, he also commented on the relationship between TV and OTT. He said the awards ceremony was created to recognise the hard work of Indian television artists and technicians. He added that while people believe that the audience is shifting away from TV, it still brings the whole family together and will always hold a place in Indian homes. He was quoted as saying:

"Technology makes a difference. People say that TV is being watched less, but I believe that if we show good content, the audience will definitely come. TV works to bring the family together. The whole family watches it together. TV will always have a place."

Asit Kumar Modi further spoke about social media and OTT. He shared that good content was being offered to the audience on every platform. He reflected on how shows were now available on OTT platforms, making it easier for the audience to pick and choose what they want to see. He was quoted as saying:

"Today, every platform is offering good content. Be it OTT, TV, or social media, it seems like there is a huge collection of offerings for the audience. Favorite shows are also available on apps. If you don’t like them, you can change the channel or app."
