Sydney Sweeney is one of the brightest stars in Hollywood. She is known for her stellar performance in the show, Euphoria. Recently, she had been in the news over her controversial collab with the men's grooming brand, Dr. Squatch which has raised many fingers towards her. However, Sydney has time and again proven she is much more than just a pretty face. She's a producer, a mechanic, and a viral marketing force who is continuously reshaping her fame and proving that she's as comfortable under the hood as she is on screen.
Sydney Sweeney was born on September 12, 1997, in Spokane, Washington. Sweeney started acting in 2009. She earned early attention with roles in Everything Sucks!, and The Handmaid’s Tale. Her breakthrough role came in 2019 with HBO’s Euphoria, where she portrayed the troubled teenager ‘Cassie Howard’. This performance earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2022 for Outstanding Supporting Actress, and cemented her status as a critical darling. That same year, The White Lotus earned her another Emmy nomination and worldwide fame.
Sydney’s ambition had led her from the spotlight as an actress to the behind-the-scenes of the production. In 2020, she launched her production company, Fifty-Fifty Films. Under this banner, she was both the star and executive producer on her film Anyone but You. In 2024, she both produced and starred in the psychological horror film, Immaculate. She was credited as a producer alongside directors like Michael Mohan. Both the films garnered positive reviews and also earned solid box office returns, proving her brilliance as a producer. She will also be producing the untitled biopic of the boxer, Christy Martin.
Beyond film and production, Sweeney is a big car enthusiast and mechanic, a fact that had surprised and delighted many of her fans. She had inherited the love of restoring vehicles from her family and often works on vintage cars herself. Her TikTok account, syds_garage, has gained a following of nearly 1.8 million fans. The account showcases restorations of iconic vehicles like 1966 Ford Mustang all by Sweeney herself. In 2023, she even teamed up with Ford Motor Company to design a custom 2024 Mustang GT.

Sydney Sweeney has recently announced a delightful new partnership, a limited-time collaboration with Baskin-Robbins called the ''Sweet on Sydney" menu. Launching July 1, 2025, the campaign offers two nostalgic, candy-inspired treats designed around Sweeney’s favorite flavours combos. The "Sydney’s Signature Scoop" and the “Sydney’s Signature Fizz”.
This collaboration is more than just a marketing moment as it’s deeply personal for Sweeney, who says she frequently visited Baskin-Robbins growing up. She called rainbow sherbet a favourite and described the opportunity to turn it into a menu item as a 'full circle' moment. This collab has made sure Sweeney is in the minds of her fans all summer long.
In late May 2025, Sweeney made waves with a bizarre yet viral campaign. She became part of the campaign and production of a limited-edition soap bar dubbed “Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss,” which was made in collaboration with men's grooming brand Dr. Squatch. The catch in it? It allegedly contained her actual bathwater. The soaps were launched online on June 6, 2025 for 8 US dollars a bar and only 5,000 units were produced and all of them were sold out instantly. Sweeney defended the project as “weird in the best way,” saying she pitched it herself to highlight natural hygiene products.
The stunt sparked a fierce debate. Some praised its boldness and humour, others decided it as gimmicky, unsanitary, or reinforcing the objectification of women. Despite the backlash, fans and critics agreed it had achieved its goal, generating massive buzz and drawing attention to both Sydney and Dr. Squatch.
Among her most anticipated projects, there on the top is Eden, a survival thriller directed by Ron Howard and written by Noah Pink. Sweeney appears alongside celebrated actors like Jude Law, Ana de Armas, and Vanessa Kirby, in a dramatization of real settlers on Ecuador’s Floreana Island in 1929. Premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, Eden is all set for a U.S. theatrical release on August 22, 2025. The trailer hints at intense psychological conflict as the group’s idealism crumbles. While talking about her character, she said, her character does everything in her power to keep the family strong and that is very admirable and powerful.
Sweeney's upcoming projects are a blend of strength, depth and ensemble storytelling. She’ll soon star in Eden, directed by Ron Howard, which arrives in U.S. theaters on August 22, 2025, a survival drama marking a turn towards more serious ensemble work. Also on her 2025 list of projects is the untitled Christy Martin biopic. Sweeney not only leads as the 1990s boxing icon but also produces it via Fifty-Fifty Films.
For the role, she had gained over 30 pounds and underwent a grueling three and a half month of training camp in weightlifting and kickboxing. Her efforts and hardwork show a remarkable physical commitment she has towards her project. Additionally, her Fifty Fity banner continues to champion and produce female-led narratives, exemplified by her dual producer-actor role in the films. She’ll also be seen respiring her role as Cassie on the new season of Euphoria.
Sydney Sweeney’s evolution is an example of a new generation of creative minds who refuse to stay in one lane.
