There are numerous family connections in the Hindi film industry that aren't known to many people because of their history. One such family relation is shared between late iconic actress, Surekha Sikri and legendary actor, Naseeruddin Shah. Even some of the biggest fans of these tremendous actors would not know how they're connected, and it's a bit interesting because the common link between them unfolds the hidden pages of Sureka Sikri and Naseeruddin Shah's lives.
Before exploring the family relation between the two iconic actors, it's essential to know the surprising fact that Surekha Sikri and Naseeruddin Shah have worked together in just one film. Yes! These two legends of the Hindi cinema had managed to work together on just one occasion, and that too was not very indulging. While Naseeruddin was the film's lead antagonist, Surekha had played a relatively minor supporting role in the film. The film was Sarfarosh (1990), and it is still regarded as one of the biggest films of Naseeruddin Shah's glorious career.

Before getting married to the iconic actress, Ratna Pathak, the ever-so-charming, Naseeruddin Shah was the moon of someone else's life. Yes! It is what you're thinking right now. Naseeruddin Shah was married to someone else, and his wedding with Ratna Pathak was his second marriage. According to multiple reports, Naseeruddin Shah had decided to marry his then-ladylove, Manara Sikri, despite her being 15 years elder than him. When the actor had told his parents about his decision to marry Manara, they strongly opposed it. The family was not in favour of Naseeruddin Shah's decision to marry a divorcee, who was living with her children in Iran.
However, Naseeruddin Shah had got married to Manara Sikri going against his family's will. Naseeruddin Shah and Manara were living a happy married life together and had also welcomed a daughter, whom they had lovingly named, Heeba Shah.

However, soon cracks had started appearing in their marriage, and due to some irreconcilable issues, Naseeruddin Shah and Manara Sikri had started living separately. The two had reportedly tried to solve the never-ending arguments in their married life but despite their multiple efforts, they couldn’t save their marriage from falling apart. Hence, the two had decided to move on in their lives by cutting off all ties with each other.

During that tough time, Manara Sikri reportedly had immense support from her sister, Surekha Sikri, who was riding high on the professional front at that time. However, Manara and Naseeruddin Shah's story had ended once and for all after the latter had fallen in love with Ratna Pathak. The couple had got married in 1982.
Strangely the year 1982, when Naseeruddin Shah had got married to Ratna Pathak was the same year when the former’s first wife, Manara Sikri had passed away. The reason behind her death is unknown but there were no conspiracies behind it, as it was a natural death.
The couple is going strong even to this very day, and together they have welcomed two sons, Imaad Shah and Vivaan Shah. All the three kids, Heeba, Imaad and Vivaan of Naseeruddin Shah are working in the film industry.

So now that you know Naseeruddin Shah had got married to the late Surekha Sikri's sister, Manara Sikri, who was also known as Parveen Murad, it's incredible to witness how closely these two cinema legends are connected. Naseeruddin Shah is the brother-in-law of Surekha Sikri, and the latter was the maasi of Naseer's daughter, Heeba Shah, from his first wife, the late Manara Sikri.
For the unversed, Naseeruddin Shah shares a warm bond with all of his three kids, Heeba Shah (from his first wife, late Manara Sikri), Imaad Shah and Vivaan Shah (from his second wife, Ratna Pathak).
