Sunny Deol Announces Upcoming New Film 'Gabru' With Poster, Where And When Can You Watch It?

Born to veteran superstar, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol celebrated his 68th birthday on October 19, 2025. On this occasion, he also announced his next film, Gabru. Here are all the details on the upcoming film. 

Sunny Deol announces new film, Gabru, on birthday: Release details and more revealed

After experimenting with different roles, Sunny Deol made a comeback as an action hero with his 2023 blockbuster movie, Gadar 2. With Border 2 also in the pipeline, Sunny Deol announced that he will be seen on the screen again in an intense avatar with his next offering. The Betaab actor, on his 68th birthday, dropped the poster of his upcoming movie, Gabru. 

When and where to watch Sunny Deol's film, Gabru? 

As written on the poster, Sunny Deol is going to star in the titular role in Gabru. Additionally, he also revealed that the film will be released on March 13, 2026. And as it is a PVR Pictures Release, the film will be hitting the cinema theatres first before it arrives on the OTT space. In the announcement post, Sunny wrote:

“Power isnt what you show, its what you do! Thank you everyone for your love and blessings , here’s something for you all who have been waiting #Gabru IN CINEMAS 13th March 2026. A story of courage, conscience, and compassion. From my heart… to the world!"

Actor, Arya Babbar commented on the post and wrote, "Thank you for this gift on your bday!" Prit Kamani, who is also part of the film's starcats, penned down, "My dearest Gabru, happy birthday Sunny sir. Love you. Can’t wait for the world to watch this version of you." Another Insta user said, "Thank u 4 birthday gift Sir." A fourth user exclaimed, "Hum Dekhenge... Baar Baar Dekhenge! Yeh sirf ek film nahi, hamare bachpan ki yaadein, hamari bhavnaayein aur deshbhakti ka jazba hai. Sunny Deol, Aap Bharat ki shaan ho!"

Sunny Deol was born as Ajay Singh Deol on October 19, 1957 to veteran Bollywood actor, Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur. The Ghayal actor has a large family with his three siblings, Vijayata, Ajeeta, and Bobby Deol. Additionally, from Dharmendra's second wife, Hema Malini, Sunny also has half-sisters, Ahana and Esha. Sunny Deol and his wife, Lynda (also known as Pooja), share two sons, Karan and Rajveer, both of whom have made their Bollywood debuts. 

Talking about his work front, Sunny Deol made his debut in the 1983 film, Betaab, starring opposite Amrita Singh. Although he started as a romantic hero, Sunny gradually established himself as a prominent action star and has also been credited for starting the trend of bodybuilding among Bollywood heroes. Sunny Deol's last film was Jaat, released in 2025.
