Sunjay Kapur's Sister Says He Tried To Fix Things With Karisma, Blames Priya For 'Breaking A Family'

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur got married in 2003, and after 13 years of their marital bliss, the duo got divorced. Karisma and Sunjay have two kids, Samaira and Kiaan. Following Sunjay's death, a family feud has been ongoing over the Sona Comstar CEO's property, involving Kiaan, Samaira, and Sunjay Kapur's third wife, Priya Sunjay Kapur. While Karisma and Sunjay's divorce became a controversy back then, in a recent interview, Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira, revealed that the ex-couple actually were trying to fix things, but it was Priya's interruption that prevented it from happening.

Mandhira Kapur says that Priya Kapur used to text Sunjay Kapur continuously when he was married to Karisma Kapoor

Mandhira Kapur recently sat for an interview with Vickey Lalwani, in which she was asked if she had indirectly accused Priya Sunjay Kapur of breaking the family, as she claimed that her brother used to receive constant texts from his third wife. To this, Mandhira agreed and said that Priya actually used to drop numerous texts to her brother, even when he was married to Lolo. She also mentioned that it's just the fact that Sunjay was in a marriage and was trying to fix things, but was not in a stable place to just reply with a 'not interested' message. Mandhira can be quoted as saying:

"Yes, she used to message him constantly when he was with Lolo and I know this for a fact. It is as simple as men are men. He was in a marriage, working on it, trying to fix it. He was not in a most stable place to say, ‘Hey, I’m not interested."

Mandhira Kapur tags Priya Kapur as a 'homebreaker'

In the interview, Mandhira Kapur slammed Priya Kapur and questioned her upbringing, as she, according to Sunjay's sister, had broken up a family. Mandhira questioned how someone could do it, when that very person had already gotten divorced with a kid, and tasted the bitterness of the world of single mothers. Mandhira then slammed Priya and mentioned that she should have definitely thought that two people were trying to work on their marriage and had two kids, thereby not entering their lives to break up a family. Mandhira shared:

"But you, as a woman, when someone has had a child and another child, you have also just gotten divorced. You know how painful it is when you are with a child. How and why would you come and break another family? What kind of upbringing is this? What kind of woman is that? Are we saying today in society that it is okay? If anything, you should have stayed away, knowing that these people are working on their marriage and they have two children. You have been divorced. You have a child. You know what it is to be a single mother. Then why would you come and do this to this family?"

Mandhira Kapur called Karisma Kapoor her friend and family

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Mandhira Kapur shared that Karisma grew up in their house, which led to a very cordial relationship between them. Mandhira said that she and Karisma were each other's best friends back then, and while it's true that they were not on talking terms for some time, everything went back to normal soon. Mandhira further revealed that Karisma is still in touch with them and that the actress still talks to her mom, and they are childhood friends and each other's family.
