Sunjay Kapur's Mom, Rani Kapur Says She Has No Idea About What Happened To Son, 'Family Legacy..'

Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, on June 12, 2025, swallowed a bee. For the unversed, as reported, as Sunjay swallowed the bee, it caused an allergic reaction in his body, leading to a heart attack, and finally his demise. This was a shocking incident to witness, and Sunjay's close friends and family members remained grief-stricken by this tragic turn of events. It was only a few days ago that Sunjay's mom, Rani, raised suspicion about her son's demise. Now, she again spoke on the same matter.

Rani Kapur reveals being unaware of what exactly happened to Sunjay Kapur

In a recent interview with ANI, Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, stated that she has no idea what happened to her son. She mentioned that she's old and needs closure. In the same interview, Rani stated that she might be old and frail, but she still vividly remembers the days when her husband founded Sona Comstar.

Rani Kapur further walked down memory lane and stated that Sona Comstar was built by love, care and sacrifice. She concluded her latest statement by saying that she would remind the world that the family legacy must not be lost, but rather it needs to be passed on as her husband always wanted it to be. Rani Kapur could be quoted as saying:

"I still don't know what happened to my son. I am old now and need closure before I go. I may be old and frail now, but my memory of being with my husband when Sona (Sona Comstar) was set up is strong. I remember the early days of Sona (Sona Comstar), built with care, sacrifice and love. I am here to remind the world that our family legacy must not be lost. It must be passed on as my husband always wanted to be."

Rani Kapur raised suspicions about her son, Sunjay Kapur's demise

After Sunjay Kapur's demise, reports claimed that his sisters might take forward his Rs. 31,000 crore business, Sona Comstar. While there was no confirmation, later, Sunjay's third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, was appointed as the non-executive director of the company, while Mark Jeffery became the chairman. However, one month after Sunjay's demise, his mother sent a letter to Sona Comstar, asking the company to postpone the AGM. She, in the letter, stated that she never got any explanation about how her son died.

Rani Kapur also stated that she hasn't given her consent to anyone to be appointed as a member of the board of directors of the firm. She went on to reveal that she has been living off mercy after her son's demise, and she has been denied access to all of her accounts. Rani further said that she was forced to sign documents after her son's demise. She stated that, despite multiple requests, she was not provided with any explanation regarding the documents she had signed. Later, her representative claimed that they feel that Sunjay didn't pass away from a heart attack, and his mom, Rani, won't sit back quietly.

Karisma Kapoor wanted her share in Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 31,000 crore business?

It was in 2003 when Karisma got married to Sunjay Kapur. They have two kids, Samaira and Kiaan. It was in 2016 when Karisma and Sunjay parted ways. Reportedly, Karisma received Rs. 70 crore in alimony, while Sunjay purchased a bond for his children worth Rs. 14 crore, which was expected to generate Rs. 10 lakh for their expenses. Amid the buzz about the feud, reports claimed that Karisma wanted her share in her ex-husband's business. However, another reliable source revealed that Karisma isn't involved in any of these feuds.
