Sunjay Kapur's Mom, Rani Slams 'Bahu' Priya With Five Fiery Allegations, 'He Intended To Leave..'

The legal battle over the inheritance of the late businessman, Sunjay Kapur. The case is intensifying in the Delhi High Court, with new pleas being filed every few weeks. It all started when Sunjay and Karisma Kapoor's two children, Kiaan and Samaira, filed a lawsuit against the widow, Priya Kapur, alleging that she forged his will following his death in June. And now, during the hearing on December 1, 2025, Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani, has also added to this list of allegations, accusing her of trying to control her son's assets and concealing the extent of his wealth in submissions to the court.

Rani Kapur alleges she was never informed about the 'will'

During the hearing, Rani Kapur's lawyers shared with the Delhi High Court that the 80-year-old was never informed of any will left by her son, Sunjay Kapur. She also raised doubts about Sunjay leaving her out of the purported will. Rani claimed that Sunjay leaving his entire estate to Priya would be "highly improbable". Rani's council submitted a long statement by Rani, a part of which read:

"If he truly intended to leave me out, he would have said so expressly."

Rani Kapur claimed that Priya Kapur 'acted swiftly to take control of the assets'

In the same statement, Rani Kapur accused her Priya Kapur of trying to seize control of Sunjay's assets instead of mourning his loss after his death. Rani's lawyer, Vaibhav Gaggar, claimed that someone named Dinesh Aggarwal was appointed director of Aureous a day after Sunjay's death in June 2025. Dinesh is also one of the witnesses in the disputed will, alongside Nitin Sharma, who worked at Priya's "dictate". The senior lawyer added:

"Star witnesses (of the will) are closely working at the dictate of the propounder and sole beneficiary. They are going to be speaking only for 1 side. Fairness doesn't seem to be anywhere in this."

Rani Kapur has also alleged that Sunjay Kapur's salary was Rs. 60 crore, but the bank balance shown is Rs. 1.7 crore

Another major allegation made by Rani Kapur against Priya is reportedly about Sunjay Kapur's salary. According to reports, Rani argued that Sunjay had an income of around Rs. 60 crore, along with luxury assets and a 6.5 per cent stake in Sona Comstar valued at roughly Rs. 650 crore. However, in her submissions, Priya allegedly showed only Rs. 1.7 crore in bank accounts. The counsel added, "It is absurd that a man of such stature and high net worth does not have a life insurance policy," further raising doubts about Sunjay Kapur not having any rental income or mutual funds.

Rani Kapur questioned how everything went to Priya Kapur after just 3 months of marriage

This is not the first hearing in which Rani Kapur has made some fiery allegations against Priya. Earlier in September 2025, the late businessman's mother questioned how her son left the entire estate to Priya after only three months of marriage. Rani Kapur also claimed that she was left with no roof over her head. Her statement read:

"Her vested interest goes into trust. All gone. I am nowhere. Ms Sachdev comes in, within three months of her getting married, everything goes? My son today leaves me with no roof over my head? I am Rani Kapur."

Meanwhile, Priya Kapur recently claimed during a hearing that it was a "healthy tradition" for a husband to give all his assets to his wife. To back her assertion, Priya cited Rani Kapur's example, saying her late father-in-law left everything for her.
