Govinda's Wife, Sunita Ahuja, Shuts Down Their Divorce Rumours, Says, 'Jab Tak Aap Mere...'

Hero No. 1, Govinda and his wife Sunita, had recently made headlines for their divorce rumours. The reports of the couple staying separately only added fuel to the ongoing buzz. Addressing the criticism circulating about the divorce, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, recently reacted to the news.

Sunita Ahuja gave a befitting reply to the ongoing rumours about her divorce from Govinda

Since February 2024, there have been speculations that all is not well in Govinda and Sunita's paradise. Due to their lifestyle choices, it was speculated that the duo is heading for divorce. Addressing their divorce rumour, in an interview with ABP, Sunita said:

“Positive hai ya negative hai. Positive hai mujhe pata hai. Mai sochti hu kuttey hai log bhaukenge. Jab tak aap mere ya Govinda ke muh se kuch na sun lo toh aap yeh mat socho kya hai kya nahi hai”

Sunita once revealed the reason behind the couple staying separately

Amid the divorce rumours, there was a viral video of Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, revealing the truth behind their staying in separate houses. She shared that as Govinda had been into politics when their daughter, Tina Ahuja, was growing up, the party workers used to visit their house. So, to maintain privacy in the house, they decided to get an office nearby. Addressing the same, she said:

"Alag-alag rehte hain matlab jab unhone politics join kiya tha tab meri beti jawaan ho rahi thi, toh saare karyakarta ghar par aate the. Ab jawaan beti hai, hum hain, hum shorts pehen ke ghar mein ghoomte hain, toh isliye humne saamne office le liya tha” 

Sunita Ahuja got married to Govinda at the age of 18

Sunita got married to Govinda on March 11, 1987, at the age of 18. Once, she shared her love story in an interview with ETimes. She opened up in the interview about how she had fallen in love with Govinda, when she was just 15. Revealing her love story with Govinda, she said:

“I used to stay at my sister’s house and my jijaji was Govinda’s mama. So Govinda stayed with my sister for three years and it was there that I met him for the first time. When we were young, we used to dance together, and my jijaji would also encourage us. We started dating and I was married at the age of 18, Tina was born when I was 19. If you ask Govinda, he will say Sunita got me in this child marriage.”

The couple had two kids, one daughter, Tina Ahuja and one son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. The star kid, Yashvardhan, is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with a romantic drama to be directed by Sai Rajesh, a National Award-winning filmmaker. The film is set to hit the screens later this year.

Speculations of Govinda having an affair with Marathi co-star

In February 2025,  there were reports that Govinda and Sunita had filed for divorce after 38 years of marriage. Addressing the rumour, Lalit Bindal, Govinda's lawyer, said that earlier, Sunita did file for divorce, but now the couple were back together. Amid the divorce rumours, there was a dating buzz between Govinda and his Marathi co-star.
