Govinda's Wife, Sunita, Reveals She Makes The Actor Laugh More Than His Comedy Roles On-Screen

Govinda, best known for his role in Hero No 1 and many more comedy movies, has been married to Sunita Ahuja for like 40 years now. Murmurs were going around since 2024 that the couple was not staying together and was heading for a separation. Speaking of Govinda, he had been one of the top heroes of the 80s and 90s, and every filmmaker wanted to work with him. Be it due to his dance movies on Kisi Disco Mein Jaaye or Sona Kitna Sona Hai, he lights the screen with his comedy and moves. However, his wife, Sunita, took the credit for making him laugh in real life.

Sunita Ahuja recently shared some surprising insights about her life with Govinda that not many are aware of. She may have met Govinda when she had a tomboy look, and over the years, their love grew. Sunita has been Govinda's biggest pillar of support, and it is said that the actor first got attracted to her because of her smile. Sunita, in an interview with Instant Bollywood, proudly said:

"Govinda ji ko meri hasi, mera nature kyuki jitna mei Govinda ko hasati hu jitna Govinda public ko hasata hai. Ussei kai zyada mei Govinda ko hasati hu. Yeh baat Govinda ne bhi bola hua hai. And we love each other."

Sunita Ahuja takes the credit for Govinda's success

Sunita and Govinda have already shut down rumours related to their divorce. However, it is said that behind the success of a man, there is always a woman. A proud Sunita took credit for the success of Govinda in the Bollywood industry and told the publication ahead in the interview:

"Pehli mummy thi. Mummy ke baad Sunita hai aur aage koi bhi nai hoga."

Speaking of the trollers who troll her regularly, Sunita shared that she loves the trollers like anything. This is because Sunita, an optimistic lady, feels that when one is trolled, one gets a lot of attention from the public. She feels that being in the eyes of  public is a great thing, as nowadays people do not maintain relations. They do not even talk to one another.

Sunita Ahuja shared of calling Govinda 'Abbe'

Earlier, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Sunita agreed that she and Govinda use cuss words on each other. They also call one another in a tapori slang with words like 'Abbe', which also means 'oye'. Sunita, who has beared it all with Govinda, revealed she could not ever believe that he would be her husband. She said:

"I still don’t feel like we are husband and wife. I still address him as ‘Abbe‘ and he also addresses me the same way. That’s how we talk to each other.” She then mentioned that “gali-galoch” is a part of their verbal exchanges, and then added, “I sometimes ask him ‘are you my husband? I still can’t believe you are my husband.”

However, Sunita is totally against men cheating on their wives and feels that she would always fold her hands in front of innocent women who feel that their partners have not cheated on them. She said that if a man or a woman cheats on her with another lady, it can go to an extent where it can become a scene like Pati, Patni Aur Woh.
