In an old video, Gauri Khan’s uncle had revealed a special anecdote about Shah Rukh Khan’s love for animals. He recalled gifting a Chinese-Pekinese breed of dog to the couple right after their marriage, on which Shah Rukh simply doted on. But one day, the dog passed away unexpectedly, while the actor wasn’t even at home. In his absence, SRK’s staff took hold of the situation and buried the pet on the sea beach, without the former’s knowledge. However, when Shah Rukh came back home and learned about the matter, he was absolutely furious and mad over his staff, who dared to take such a step without his knowledge. Recalling how SRK cried all night, Gauri’s uncle had revealed:
“Shah Rukh came at midnight, he asked where is the dog. They said, sir woh to chale gaye. He said, kaha rakha hai? Humne sea mein unki grave bana di. Two thirty at night he woke up the boys and he said show me where you kept him. He dug the grave, he brought the dog back, put him in the backyard and he’s made some sign there. And he cried all night. He said, how dare you throw my dog away? He has to be with us.”
