Suniel Shetty Was Stunned After Athiya Chose Natural Delivery Over C-Section 'Not Once She Showed..'

Athiya Shetty, the daughter of actor, Suniel Shetty, is a well-known figure in the entertainment Industry. Despite her brief stint in films, fans have keenly followed her personal life, especially after she began dating cricketer, KL Rahul. Becoming another star couple in the sports world, the duo have been admired for their strong bond, calm personalities and simple lifestyle away from the limelight. They tied the knot in 2023 and embraced a new phase in their life recently as they welcomed their baby girl, Evaarah, in March 2025. The news delighted their fans and family, but what made it more special was how Athiya and Rahul transitioned into these new roles. In a recent interview, Suniel Shetty shared how he is delighted to see his daughter, Athiya, become a strong mother.

Suniel Shetty reveals he was stunned to see Athiya choose normal delivery over C-section

KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty shared the announcement about their baby girl's arrival, her name and a little glimpse with fans through their social media. But apart from that, they have not revealed any significant details about this new phase in their life. Amid this, Suniel Shetty recently sat down for an interview with News 18 and shared how his daughter, Athiya, has been adapting to the new role. He shared that he got a major realisation about his daughter's strength as a mother when she didn't choose the comfort of a caesarean delivery, which the nurse and paediatrician suggested. Instead, she insisted on going for a natural birth procedure for her baby. Recalling his shock at the moment, Suniel said:

"In a world where everybody wants the comfort of having a caesarean baby, she chose not to do that and had a natural delivery. I remember how every nurse and paediatrician in the hospital said that it was unbelievable how she went through the whole process. That hit me as a father. I was like, 'Wow, she's ready!' Athiya was very, very strong to do that."

Suniel Shetty added that his wife and Athiya's mother, Mana Shetty, is a strong woman and he believes that his daughter has absorbed that trait from her. Gushing over Athiya being a wonderful mother, he mentioned that she didn't ever show any stress, tiredness or complaints with the new responsibility. Instead, she has been unexpectedly doing well in the new role. Expressing his pride at Athiya for being an exceptional mother, Suniel said:

"I have to reiterate that Athiya is such a beautiful mother. Not once has she shown any kind of stress or a frown or indicated that she's tired and exhausted. Athiya has embraced motherhood like a fish to water. She's absolutely fantastic. Every father thinks of their daughters as little babies. I did too and wondered if she'd be able to handle motherhood — but she's unbelievable!"

Suniel Shetty recalls his experience of holding his granddaughter, Evaarah, for the first time 

Suniel Shetty recently sat down for another interview with Bollywood Bubble where he was shown a picture of his granddaughter, Evaraah, shared by her parents. In his response, Suniel mentioned that even looking at his granddaughter's head gave him immense joy. At the same time, he recalled his feelings when he first time held Evaarah and said:

"Don't even ask… First time, last evening, this morning also – the feeling is the same. I never thought life would go beyond your own children. Me, Ahan and Athiya, they mean the world to me, and now another one comes. So just enjoy all that."

KL Rahul and Athiya named their daughter, Evaarah for a special reason 

After KL Rahul and Athiya announced the birth of their daughter, fans were waiting to know more about her. So, on Rahul's birthday, the couple shared a family portrait where they revealed that they had named their daughter, Evaarah. They also mentioned that the name has a special meaning behind it as it captures the essence of their feelings for her. Athiya and Rahul mentioned that Evraarah translates to 'gift of god', and she means everything to them. In the caption, they used lotus emojis and wrote:

"Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah. Gift of God.”
