Sunidhi Chauhan is a prominent name in the Indian entertainment industry. Over the course of her career, she has lent her voice to some of the most popular songs in Bollywood movies. The 40-year-old playback singer recently sat for an interview on Raj Shamani's podcast, Figuring Out, and spoke at length about various aspects of her life.
During one of the podcast's segments, Sunidhi talked about her contemporary, Arijit Singh, who has captured the hearts of millions of audiences worldwide with his melodious numbers. When asked what's so special about Arijit, Sunidhi immediately revealed her admiration for the 37-year-old singer and mentioned that he has been a perpetual student of music.

The podcast's host continued heaping praise on Arijit Singh, saying that he has become bigger than the art. He also said that the singer has etched his name such that now people know if he has sung a song, then it's definitely going to be good. He asked Sunidhi about her opinion on the same. She was quoted as saying:
"Arijit is such a beautiful singer ki agar wo kisi aur ka gaana bhi gaate hai toh log bolte hai ki wo Arijit ka hi gaana hai. I think ek toh kisi bhi genre ka gaana ho he is able to adapt himself according to the genre, wo ek bohot badi quality hai without changing his voice nahi toh aap kisi bhi genre mein kudne ke liye aap thoda sa vocally change karte ho, I don’t think he does that a lot."
Further in the conversation, Sunidhi made a surprising claim and said that Arijit doesn't love himself enough. When the host expressed his shock behind such a statement, the 40-year-old singer went on to clarify her stance. She mentioned that he doesn't think he's Arijit Singh, and considers himself a student of music to date. In her words:
"I think he doesn’t love himself enough, that’s why he is able to do what he is doing. He is a student, he doesn’t think he is Arijit Singh. He doesn’t love himself so much. He loves to listen to other people, adapt from all the singers he likes. He sings their songs on stage, in his own concerts! He just wants to make music. He doesn’t want to be heard, he wants to sing, we want to hear him."

Sunidhi Chauhan also pointed out that when Arijit is doing any stage show, he fully immerses himself in singing or playing his guitar rather than focusing on what's happening in the crowd. She also praised his nonchalant approach to concerts and mentioned that he interacts a lot with his musicians, often appreciating them for their artistry.
