Hrithik Roshan is a prominent star in the Hindi film industry, known for his impressive acting, charming looks and impeccable dancing skills. Coming from the popular Roshan family in Bollywood, many people think that his way to fame and success was easy, but that's not the case. Behind all the glitz and glam lies Hrithik's journey of self-belief, hard work, consistency and resilience which help him overcome multiple obstacles to reach the pinnacle. Among them, one of the most significant challenges for the actor as a kid was his stammering problem. In a recent interview, his sister, Sunaina Roshan, shared how her brother, Hrithik, worked hard to overcome his stammering problem.
Sunaina Roshan recently sat down for an interview with Pinkvilla and shared some interesting insights about his family. During the conversation, she was asked about Hrithik Roshan's stammering issue. For those unaware, Hrithik had shared in the media that he was teased in school due to his stammering issue, which was later healed by speech therapy. Sharing more insights on the same, Sunaina said:
"But he did a lot to stop stuttering, and hats off to him. I remember he would wake up at 4:35, do his speech classes, and slowly come out of it."
When asked if she would stand up for her brother, she explained that she was too young to do it and later got married at an early age. But, she emphasised that whenever their family had any issue especially related to any illness, everyone came forward to support each other. Recalling how, despite being younger, Hrithik played the role of an elder brother, Sunaina said:
"My brother's always been the elder brother to me. He's never treated me like an elder sister. He's always been the elder brother to me. Very protective. Now now, of course, but earlier, very. That's what brothers are."
Previously, in an interview with ANI, Hrithik Roshan's father and filmmaker, Rakesh Roshan, recalled that the Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai actor once locked himself in the bathroom because he was unable to say "Thank you, Dubai" without stammering. The filmmaker shared that his son was highly educated with an impressive intellect, but often felt underconfident due to his stammering issue. Rakesh said:
"I used to feel bad that he had so much to say, yet he would hesitate because of his stuttering. He would get stuck on 'D'. He locked himself in the bathroom to learn that sentence. He worked so hard on himself. Now he doesn't stutter for the last 10-12 years."
