Suhani Bhatnagar, aka young 'Babita Phogat' from Aamir Khan-starrer, Dangal, left everyone heartbroken as she passed away at the tender age of 19. It was on February 17, 2024, when such heart-breaking news surfaced in the media, which was later confirmed by Aamir Khan's production house's statement. It was indeed heart-wrenching to hear such news. However, the reason why Suhani bid farewell to the world remained unknown. Recently, the diva's parents finally opened up and interacted with the media while revealing the cause of Suhani's demise at the age of 19.
As per a recent report by India Today, Suhani Bhatnagar's father opened up about the reason behind the former's demise. Suhani's father stated that about two months ago, the actress was suffering from hand swelling, which they all took to be normal at first, and after a few days, it spread to the other hand and then, to her overall body. Suhani's papa remarked that even after consulting several doctors, the actress' illness could not be detected, and about 11 days ago, she was admitted to Delhi AIIMS hospital, wherein it was revealed that she had been suffering from dermatomyositis. For the unversed, dermatomyositis is a rare autoimmune disease.

Talking more about his daughter, Suhani Bhatnagar's father stated that doctors have mentioned that such a disease takes time to be cured. He also added that Suhani's immune system got weak after she received steroids, which is the only treatment for this disease. However, as her immunity system was weak, she was further afflicted with infection while being in the hospital. Suhani's papa remarked that it was due to the infection that the diva's lungs got weakened further, causing a fluid build-up, making it hard for her to breathe, which took her life on February 16, 2024.
In the same interaction, Suhani Bhatnagar's mom expressed her pride over her daughter. She stated that the diva was the one among 25,000 girls who bagged the role in Aamir Khan-starrer. For those who don't know, it was the casting director of Dangal, Mukesh Chhabra who once, in an interview, stated that Suhani was among 10,000 girls to be the one to act alongside Aamir, and it was the purity in her that was the reason she got selected.

Coming back to Suhani Bhatnagar's mom's recent revelations, the proud mom shared that her daughter was very fond of the camera from a young age. Talking more about Suhani, her mom stated that the diva was pursuing a course in Mass Communication and Journalism, which she wanted to complete and then work in showbiz further.

During an old interview with TV India Live, Suhani was asked why she hadn't signed any films after her success in Dangal. To this, the late actress shared that she had done shoots, fashion shows, and events, but all she wanted to do was to concentrate on her studies. Suhani further mentioned that she would definitely go forward if she would get an opportunity, but she wanted to focus on studying and working in the lead in the future. Suhani stated:
"I want to finish my education, and after that, I want to be seen as a main lead in films. But if I get any opportunities between my studies, I will surely do it. Until then, I will only concentrate on my studies.”
