'Stranger Things Season 5' To Have Theatrical Release On New Year's Eve, Fans Want Release In India

Stranger Things is one of the most popular shows among the young audience. Since its premiere in 2016, it wasn't a show, it became a cultural phenomenon. Its creepy soundtrack and sci-fi plotline defined modern television. The show also gave iconic characters like 'Eleven' and 'Hopper'. After the success of the 4 blockbuster seasons, Stranger Things Season 5 is all set to return, but this time with an exciting twist. 

Stranger Things Season 5 will release in theatres

On October 23, 2025, Netflix took to their official Instagram handle and shared the exciting news with all the fans of Stranger Things. In their post, they announced that the fifth season of the popular series will be released in three parts this time. Volume 1, with the first four episodes, will be released on November 26, 2025. Volume 2 with the next three episodes will be released on Christmas, which is December 25, 2025. But, the exciting news is that the two-hour-long finale will be released in theatres across the U.S. and Canada on December 31, 2025. Their post can be read as:

"Fans can experience the final episode of Stranger Things on Netflix and in select theaters in US & Canada on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. More info to come!"

Fans’ reaction to the theatrical release

When Netflix announced the good news on their Instagram handle, many Stranger Things fans flooded the comment section with excitement. While some users expressed their happiness to witness the show in theatres, others demanded theatrical releases in more countries. One user commented, "Can’t wait to sob into my popcorn for the finale." Another user wrote, "Please Netflix we want finale on theatres too, in India, please." A third user penned, "Please expand for more theaters/showtimes, and maybe play into the weekend too since New Year's Eve is on a Wednesday!". Another user shared, "The best news ever."

Cast of Stranger Things Season 5

According to a report of The Telegraph, Stranger Things Season 5 is all set to bring back the core starcast, which includes Millie Bobby Brown as ‘Eleven’, Finn Wolfhard as ‘Mike’, Caleb McLaughlin as ‘Lucas’ and Noah Schnapp as ‘Will’. Apart from them, the show will also star Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Linda Hamilton. Reportedly, the actors will be reprising their roles.
