Steve Bridges was one of the most beloved comedians of TikTok. He had created many characters and would constantly perform funny skits based on the situations his characters faced. Steve was an emerging star on social media. Taking to her late husband's social media, Chelsey announced his passing away. Here's what she revealed about Steve Bridges' cause of death.
On October 17, 2025, Steve Bridges wife, Chelsey took to her husband's Instagram account to announce to the public that he had 'passed away in his sleep'. Chelsey revealed they had both been married for 16 years and had three children. She also mentioned her husband had passed away on October 15, 2025, even though the announcement was being made two days later. Holding back tears, Chelsey said:
"I'm really sorry to get on and tell you this, this way. I think if I wait any longer, I'm not going to be able to do it. But Steve Bridges passed away peacefully in his sleep."

Steve had been known to portray strange and obnoxious characters in his TikTok comedy sketches. From a 'dad-beat boyfriend' to 'housekeeping manager' and more, Steve would play over-the-top characters. Chelsey stated in her announcement video that in real life, Steve was the opposite of his character. She called him an attentive father, the best husband, and a sweet man. Steve's wife shared:
"Who you saw online was just the characters that he created. He was so talented because he was the opposite of all of them. He was the most attentive father, and the best, the best husband. And the greatest, sweetest man. And thanks to you internet, he's been able to live his dream of making people laugh. I am so thankful that he got to do that."
Although Steve's wife, Chelsey has shared that he died in his sleep. Autopsy reports are awaited that will reveal the medical cause behind his death at 41. It is also noteworthy that Steve Bridges's last video on his social media was just three days before his death. This video has now been filled with messages of condolences for the TikTok comedian.

Steve Bridges had made his film debut in a 2025 horror comedy film called, INfernal. Writer and director of the film, Eric Mathis, paid homage to the late comedian and shared a moving note on Facebook. Eric penned down:
"This is one of the worst announcements I could ever have to make… our brother from another mother Steve Bridges has passed away. Steve was an incredible talent beloved by millions of fans across the world, he was part of our tight knit film family, he was a husband and a father to 3 young kids."
Steve's followers also flooded the comment section where Chelsey announced his death with messages of tributes and condolences. One Insta user wrote, "The world got a little darker. He really was my favorite content creator. Glad to experience his comedy. As his character would say 'ask my mom'. RIP keep it creamy". Another user stated, "Oh no this is so heartbreaking! We love you Steve!! Rest in peace. You brought so many laughs and smiles to us. I’m so sorry for your loss." Many other commentors echoed these sentiments and shared condolences with Chelsey over the passing away of her husband.
