Allu Arjun's much-anticipated film, Pushpa 2: The Rule was released in theatres on December 5, 2024, and as expected, fans were in a frenzy. Unfortunately, the movie premiere in Hyderabad at Sandhya Theatre, RTC crossroads, turned into utter chaos on Wednesday night, December 4, when the star made a surprise visit to the venue. Excited fans caused a stampede in their attempt to catch a glimpse of Arjun, leading to the death of a mother and her son being rendered critical.
Several fans have been eagerly looking forward to the release of Allu Arjun's latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. 39-year-old M Revati, her husband, M Bhaskar, and their two children, who hailed from Dilsukhnagar, were no different. However, little did they know when they showed up at Sandhya Theatre, RTC crossroads, that their fun family outing was going to end in a massive tragedy.
According to a Matrubhumi report, Pushpa star, Allu Arjun made a visit to the theatre where the film was being screened to surprise his fans. This led to severe chaos breaking out near the venue at around 10:30 PM as eager fans rushed to catch sight of their favourite star, who was surrounded by heavy security and police protection.
The situation turned into a full-blown stampede as police officers struggled to control the massive crowd that had erupted. Sadly, this led to a stampede that ended up crushing M Revati and her son.
Several videos uploaded on X (formerly known as Twitter) give a glimpse of the chaotic situation near the theatre last night. Fans could be seen screaming, crowding around Allu Arjun, and throwing money into the air. Even as the star was leaving, fans crowded around his car, making it nearly impossible for him to leave. Eventually, Arjun had to appear through his sunroof and request them to make space for the car to pass while joining his hands. Police officers and security personnel could even be seen using sticks to make the crowd back off.

Sadly, M Revati and her son were severely injured in the chaos. She was rushed to a hospital but eventually succumbed to her injuries. Her son remains in critical condition. According to Matrubhumi's report, the stampede had been so severe that even the front gates of the theatre had been crushed. As of now, a case has been registered at the Chikkadpally police station, and an officer commented on the situation, saying:
"People who were exiting the theatre from a previous show were caught in the midst of the crowd. Revathi and her son fell down in the stampede. The police personnel present there tried to resuscitate Revathi for several minutes. She and her son were rushed to Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital where Revathi was declared dead. Her son has been shifted to KIMS hospital with serious injuries and is in a critical condition."

For the unversed, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to Sukumar's 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise. It sees the return of Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil as their much-loved characters 'Pushpa Raj,' 'Srivalli,' and 'Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.' As of now, no one from the team, including Arjun and Rashmika, has commented on the news about M Revati losing her life and her son being in critical condition.
