Sridevi Kapoor-Boney Kapoor's 1st House In Chennai Is Like A Film Set With An Antique Staircase

Bollywood actress, Sridevi Kapoor was hailed as one of the female superstars in India. She was the heroine of every hit film. She had worked in over ninety films and didn't think twice about starting her own family and leaving the world of glamour. Sridevi's sudden demise in Dubai had left not just her entire family heartbroken, but also her millions of fans in pain. 

Over the years, Sridevi made sure to keep her personal life away from the world. While she proudly called Mumbai her workplace, she felt at home in Chennai. After all, her Chennai home was the first house she bought. Recently, Janhvi Kapoor gave a tour of this beautiful place, which was designed by her mother, Sridevi, and it was preserved by her father, Boney Kapoor.

The lush green veranda

In an interview with Vogue, Janhvi Kapoor gave an inside tour of her Chennai home, owned by her parents, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. The home has a huge gate, which opens to a lush green veranda. It is a perfect place to host get-togethers and family dinner nights. 

Sridevi believed in 'Vastu', and they had a different entry to the house

Janhvi revealed that the main entrance to their Chennai house is somewhere else, but they believe in Vastu Shashtra. And this is the reason they had made a different entry to their home. After passing through the glass door, there is a corridor which hosts a lot of art pieces, which enhanced the wall and turned it into a piece of art.

According to Janhvi, their Chennai home still has the energy of her mother, Sridevi in every corner of it. And we agree as the old pictures of Sridevi with her husband, Boney Kapoor radiates it. In fact, the retro chandelier in the living room also gives a warm feeling.

Boney Kapoor's little office

Janhvi also showed her father's small office, which hosts a big study table with a glass top. The actress revealed that he loves to surround himself with his family's pictures. The home has an old-world charm with traditional wooden furniture and art pieces that accentuate ivory-coloured walls.

Living Room 

The living room features a beautiful L-shaped sofa, which has cushions with different textiles. A huge artefact of Buddha also adorns it. The glass wall adjoining it is decorated with huge ceramic vases and dry flowers.

Another room features a huge couch in beige colour, which is a perfect place for hanging out with friends and cousins. The wall has a white and golden texture on it. Janhvi also shared her favourite spot, which hosts statement candlelight holders on Chester drawers.

Dining Room

Sridevi and Boney's home also has a huge dining room. In the centre of the room, there is a huge eight-seater dining table, on which beautiful crockery was laid. Janhvi also revealed that the dining room has a secret room, and she doesn't know what is inside it.

The huge staircase with memorabilia wall 

Janhvi also revealed how her home features a huge staircase with a memorabilia wall. It was Sridevi's idea, and it featured framed pictures from the start of her acting career to Janhvi's Koffee With Karan debut with her half-brother, Arjun Kapoor.

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's home in Chennai is a beautiful warm place that is filled with childhood memories, nostalgia and love.
