From long-term romances and secret weddings to recent breakups and career-focused singles, the stars of Squid Game lead lives as intriguing off-screen as they do on-screen. Here's a closer look at who's dating who, who's married, and who's navigating the single life in 2025.
Veteran actor, Lee Jung-jae, who gained immense popularity thanks to Squid Game, has been in a committed relationship with Lim Se-ryung since they began dating in 2015. The couple is perceived as a power pair in South Korea, but they consciously maintain a private personal life.
Lee Byung-hun, portraying the stoic and enigmatic Front Man, is married to actress, Lee Min-jung. They wed on August 10, 2013, after rekindling a relationship that began in 2006. Together, they have two children: a son born on March 31, 2015, and a daughter born on December 21, 2023. Their marriage had its share of turmoil when Lee Byung-hun was caught up in rumours of cheating on his wife. However, Min-jung decided to forgive him, and the two emerged stronger as a result. Their relationship is often held up in Korea as an example of stability and mutual support in the face of personal challenges.

Singer-turned-actress, Jo Yu-ri received her first major spotlight through Squid Game. There was a dating rumour involving singer, Choi Ye-na, which caught everyone's attention. The two were reportedly travelling abroad under fake names. However, Yu-ri called Ye-na her best friend, putting an end to the rumours. Publicly, she has never been reported to be dating anyone.
The 39-year-old actor plays a transgender woman in Squid Game. Park was in a long-term relationship with actress, Ryu Hyung-kyung. The two actors first met while acting in the live theatre in 2016 and had been dating openly since March 2017. They broke up after dating for six years in 2022. Since then, the actor has shared no further details of his relationship status.
Gong Yoo, who portrayed the charming recruiter, is famously single and enjoys a private personal life. In interviews, he has candidly said he feels mentally too young to consider marriage, despite approaching his mid-forties. He has been previously linked to many of his high-profile co-stars, including Kim Go Eun and Im Soo Jung, but there has been no confirmation from him or his agency.
Jung Ho-yeon, who skyrocketed to global fame as 'Kang Sae-byeok', maintained a long-term relationship with fellow actor, Lee Dong-hwi from 2015. A devoted father and husband, Park rarely shares his personal life and has emphasised that his wife and son are his priority.
On the supporting cast front, actors, Chae Gook-hee and Oh Dal-su had dated in the past. Their relationship began in 2012, and they confirmed it in 2018. Later on, in 2018, ahead of the release of the film Detective K: Secret of the Living Dead, Oh Dal-su avoided questions about marriage plans during an interview, stating, 'No comment.' Shortly after, they officially announced their breakup.
The unforgettable villain 'Jang Deok-su', played by Heo Sung-tae, has been married since 2010. He married a non-celebrity after a decade-long courtship. While details about his wife remain scarce, Heo has previously shared that early in his career, he relied on her support and used her credit card to buy snacks after auditions.
Whether in love, newly single, or focused on their careers, the cast members of Squid Game remind us that behind the fame, they lead complex, relatable lives just like anyone else.
