Sophie Choudry Gives Befitting Reply To Trollers On Her Bollywood Survival, 'Number 1 Female Host..'

Sophie Choudry is a British singer and actress, who is based in India. She has been working in the Bollywood film industry and is a former MTV India VJ. Besides being an actress, singer and VJ, Sophie is also a TV presenter. Recently, she turned host at the Udaipur billionaire wedding of Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju. She has shared snaps with global icon, Jennifer Lopez, who was also present at the wedding. Now, Sophie has clapped back at trolls who questioned her survival in Bollywood.

Recently, some trolls questioned Sophie Choudry about her survival in the Bollywood film industry, as she is not actively seen in front of the camera. Giving a befitting reply, Sophie shared that it has been the live show market that played a big role in her survival in the industry. She called herself one of the busiest live singer performers for 17 years for corporate and wedding shows. She addressed herself as the number 1 female host. She added that in India, unless a woman is in the top 10 position, she doesn’t make money. Hitting back at trolls, Sophie wrote:

"Through the live show market. Been one of the busiest live singer performers for 17 years for corporate and wedding shows, am the number 1 female host for live events. Just because you don’t see me on screen doesn’t mean I haven’t made my place elsewhere. In India, unless you are in the top 10 actresses, you don’t make money. I realised that a long, long time ago and thank God for that."

What was the troll involving Sophie Choudry all about?

Recently, Sophie shared a picture with global star, Jennifer Lopez from backstage. The duo had appeared at the Udaipur lavish wedding of Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju. For the uninitiated, Netra is the daughter of billionaire, Raju Mantena. Sharing the snap, Sophie wrote:

"Jennifer Lopez, an artist I absolutely adore and have been hugely inspired by for more than two decades! Her on-stage fire, her discipline, her music videos, her style, so many of her films… just iconic!"

Reacting to the post, an X user questioned Sophie about her survival in Bollywood. The user explained that he wants to know, as he has not seen her in films or web shows. The user wrote:

"Yaar Sophie, mujhe aaj tak nahi samajh mein aata how you have survived in Bollywood bina kaam ke. No films, no web shows, not even songs. We have only seen you in bits and pieces, so how have you survived #Bollywood??"

Sophie was born on February 8, 1982, in Manchester, United Kingdom. She went to the London School of Economics, London, UK. Later, she went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and then to Sciences Po/Paris Institute of Political Studies, Paris. She completed her graduation in European Politics and French. In 2002, she made her TV debut with MTV Loveline. In 2005, Sophie made her film debut with the movie, Shaadi No. 1.

She began her career as a pop singer with an all-girl band, Sansara. The first song, Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai, of her band was written by her. However, the band had a fallout, and Sophie started her solo singing journey in 2001, with music videos, Habibi and Le Le Mera Dil. According to a report by Starsunfolded, Sophie is a trained Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Salsa dancer. She has also learned Western classical music in the UK from Helena Shenel and Indian classical music from Pandit Ashkaran Sharma.
