“First I used to get scared of him. When I was new in the industry, he used to bully me, in the sense that he was older than me, and had a lot of experience. I met him when I was 14 years old, at a competition which I won. That time he had said, get him to me when he grows up. When I came to Mumbai, my dad and I went to see him. He was very intimidating at that time. But slowly, I understood how to deal with him. Jitna daboge, utna dabaenge. I even learnt a lot from him, he is my guruji.”

Apart from his flourishing career, Sonu Nigam happens to be a completely humble and family-oriented man in his personal life. For the unversed, the talented singer is married to Madhurima Nigam and the duo is blessed with a son, Neevan. Like his daddy dearest, Neevan too has a keen interest in music. However, it is his father who doesn’t want to launch his son as a singer in India. Revealing more about it, Sonu, in an earlier interview with The Times Of India, had mentioned:

"Frankly, I don't want him to be a singer, at least not in this country. He is a born singer, but he has another interest in life. He is a brilliant child with a lot of qualities and talent. And I don't want to tell him what to do. Let's see what he wants to do himself."
