Sonu Nigam is one the most iconic singers in Bollywood. He ruled the 90s and early 2000s with his soulful singing. The singer has given several memorable songs to Bollywood, like Sandese Aate Hai, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin, Tumse Milke Dil Ka, and more. Besides his mesmerising voice, Sonu is known for his unfiltered views and never shies away from expressing his disagreement on different issues. In a recent interview, the singer left everyone surprised as he expressed his dislike for AR Rahman's work in the 2008 film, Yuvvraaj without mincing his words.
Sonu Nigam has often mentioned how he admires AR Rahman's detached personality and collaborated with music maestro on popular songs like Satrangi Re, Tanha Tanha, Saathiya, Do Kadam, and more. But, despite their successful songs together, the singer reacted honestly to one of their work together. In a new interview with O2 India, the singer admitted that their song, Shano Shano from Yuvvraaj, wasn't good. In his words:
"That song is pretty average. It wasn't such a good song. Let's not talk about it. I won't be able to lie. I won't be able to praise a bad song."
Apart from that song, Sonu was also asked about the other two songs that he recorded for the Salman Khan starrer film's album. However, the singer, known for his honesty, explained that he held the same views for them and asked the host to forget to ask about them in a straightforward manner. Sharing his view on the entire album, he said:

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Yuvvraaj was directed by prominent filmmaker, Subhash Ghai. Taking about the film's music in his interview with ANI, the filmmaker revealed that AR Rahman had made his Oscar-winning song, Jai Ho, for Yuvvraaj. However, after the song was recorded, Subhash felt that the song wouldn't work in the situations enacted in the film. As a result, the music composer gave the song for the film, Slumdog Millionaire. Later, it won Best Original Song at the 81st Academy Awards.
Sonu Nigam made his singing debut with the song, Hum To Chhaila Ban Gaye from DD1's TV serial, Talaash in 1992. He went on to sing some memorable songs for films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer Zara, Mai Hoon Na, Agneepath, Border, Dil Se and more. The singer recently lent his voice to two songs in Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 that became an instant hit among the audiences. Sonu Nigam has several songs and film songs lined up for 2025, including a song for the film, Border 2.
