“I love her, and I went, and I apologised to her after I saw the entire series! I was like, how have I done this? Meri ye majaal kaha se aayi! She is amazing, and that is the beauty of having such a fine actor in front of you because they give you the boost to do better yourself. This is Manisha Koirala, who we have grown up watching, who has an amazing body of work. Main inke saamne khadi hun, kuch toh accha hi karna tum. That’s what happens, you bounce off each other’s energies. It is such a pleasure to have that banter with each other, you are fully into it. I enjoyed working with Manisha mam.”

In the same interaction, Sonakshi revealed that she never tried to be in the filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s good books. She further said that as an artist himself, she knew that he would value and appreciate good work. Sonakshi also shared that the filmmaker wasn’t supposed to shoot many of her scenes, but then he shot one of her scenes, and it changed everything. Sharing that she wasn’t too hard on herself while shooting, Sonakshi added:
“I didn’t really try (to be in his good books). He is an artist himself so I knew the only thing that will ever impress him is good work or if I do my work well. That is exactly what happened. He was not supposed to shoot too many scenes of mine, but then he shot one and kept coming back. We made a beautiful rapport on set where I didn’t have to try too hard, and I knew that if I put that pressure on myself, I am going to mess it up. I completely surrendered and gave it my best shot. He saw and appreciated that.”

Previously, in an interview with India Today, Sonakshi addressed the rumours of female rivalry on the sets of Heeramandi. Dismissing the rumours, the actress shared that she had a great time working with everyone. Sonakshi further asked if anyone had the capability of doing a six-hero film. Sharing that the person who might have started such speculations must be a disgruntled man, Sonakshi added:
“You know, women don't do that, right? And whoever probably started this rumour is a very disgruntled man. 'Heeramandi' was an amazing experience for all of us. I mean, it has been one of the best working experiences of my life. I mean, try and get a six-hero film together, and I challenge you!”
