The duo tied the knot on June 23, 2024, in a registry wedding and celebrated their union with their loved ones at a fun-filled reception. However, Sonakshi's brothers, Luv and Kush, missed the celebrations, which raised many eyebrows. Later, Luv dropped many cryptic posts, hinting at his rift with Zaheer's family.
On July 5, 2024, Sonakshi Sinha took to her IG handle and shared a long post originally shared by Freddy Birdy. The post was shared with the title, 'Things they should teach in school'. Notably, Sonakshi's social media activity came a few days after Luv Sinha stirred a controversy online. The note on the slide can be read as "How to know when to keep voice down or completely shut (Airplanes, movie theatres). How to know when you don’t get what you want. To instil a deep concern for the environment. To live and let live, literally and metaphorically.” Another one can be read as:
“The utter and total importance of kindness and inclusiveness in a rapidly insular world. To know that contrary opinions to yours can exist, and they do. And to be a more tolerant young human being.”

Taking to his IG handle, on June 30, 2024, Luv shared a strong statement, slamming the online campaign against him. In his note, Luv expressed his disappointment over the rumours and mentioned that his family is his top priority. Not just this, Luv also shared a link to a news report titled, 'Against The Tide,' which talked about the rumours of Zaheer Iqbal's antecedents. The report mentioned that there was anxiety among the Sinha family about Zaheer's father, Iqbal Ratansi's proximity to a corrupted politician and his stint in Dubai.
However, Luv's post created a controversy on social media, after which he deleted the statement. On July 2, 2024, Luv Sinha dropped a post on his X handle, confirming that he skipped Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding. He further shared a quote about Zaheer's antecedents and claimed that he doesn't want to associate with some people. Making his final post on the entire fiasco, Luv mentioned that he was incorrectly attributed. He wrote:
"The quote that is being incorrectly attributed to me is not my statement, and was written in an article by a senior journalist. The matter is now closed, and I will not be commenting on it any further."

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal had a registry wedding on June 23, 2024, followed by a grand reception. Sonakshi turned into a minimal bride as she opted for a cream-hued chic saree with floral patterns embroidered in thread. She teamed her drape with a simple striped blouse.
