According to several reports, Shefali was born in New Delhi on July 1, 1994, into a middle-class family. Talking about Shefali's educational qualifications, she completed her schooling from Pitampura's Sachdeva Public School. For graduation, she took admission to Delhi University's St. Stephen's College.

If the media reports are to be believed, after graduating from DU's St. Stephen's College, Shefali Bagga joined India Today Media Institute in Noida. She also participated in the Clean and Clear Fresh Face Contest in the following years, and Shefali finished the contest at number 11. It was in 2015 that Shefali joined TV Today's Tez Channel and worked as a journalist and TV anchor for a couple of years. The season was eventually won by the late actor, Sidharth Shukla.

However, after being evicted from the show, Siddharth talked about his budding romance with Shefali inside the house and said:

"It was a very organic connection that we formed on the stage, even before entering the house. We realized we were kind of made for each other in that mad show. Shefali once told me that her eyes keep searching for me in the house and I saw that in her behavior. It was the most beautiful relationship in the house. Even though there was so much liking, we never indulged in anything stupid. I am proud I could find such a strong connection."

Despite their close bond, Shefali Bagga and Siddharth Dey never confirmed that they were in a relationship. As time passed, both of them moved forward in their lives. Fast forward to 2025, and Shefali is getting linked with Sohail Khan, who is currently single. For the uninitiated, Sohail parted ways with his ex-wife, Seema Sajdeh, in 2022 after being together in a marriage for 24-long-years.
