Soha Ali Khan Reveals Saif's Ex-Wife Amrita Singh 'Took Care Of Her', Changed After Ugly Divorce

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's relationship had been through the highest high to the lowest low of their lives. The ex-couple's love was like fire; one spark, and the warmth of their love made headlines as the two secretly got married. But 13 years later, the fire was extinguished with Saif Ali Khan publicly bashing his then-estranged wife for seeking huge alimony. Recently, Soha Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan's youngest sister, recalled her brother's ugly divorce battle and how Amrita was with her before their separation.

Recently, in a podcast with Nayandeep Rakshit, Saif Ali Khan's sister, Soha Ali Khan revealed that she was extremely close to her ex-sister-in-law, Amrita Singh. But things changed between her and their family after her separation. When she was questioned about the impact of Saif and Amrita's separation on her. 

Soha revealed that she used to live with Amrita in her house, and she would take her to photoshoots and did a lot for her. They even used to play Scrabble. However, when their marriage ended, the families also went through a period of change and adjustment to find their own independent equilibrium. She was quoted as saying:

"It’s like when a marriage ends, the families also go through a period of change and adjustment. You may find your own independent equation after some time, but it’s complicated. For me, Amrita was someone I lived with in her house. She looked after me, took me for photoshoots and did so much. We’ve played Scrabble together."

Soha revealed that when Saif and Amrita decided to separate, she first allowed the two to find their own equilibrium and comfort. And that was something they went through together, and now, as things have settled down, and the children have grown up, things are better. She said:

"When that relationship ends, of course, you go through a moment of processing and transition. You first allow them to find their equation, and then you have to find your own within that. I think that’s something we went through, and now, there’s a sense of settlement. The children are all grown up. You can be yourself in a way. Sara and Ibrahim were very young then."

When Saif Ali Khan claimed that Amrita Singh would abuse his sister, Soha

The reason for Saif and Amrita's divorce remains unknown. However, in an old interview, Saif had claimed that Amrita used to abuse his mother and his sister. In an interaction with Subhash K. Jha, Saif had revealed that he had gone through a worse time. Amrita used to hurl abuses at him and his family. He said:

"To have taunts, jeers, insults and abuses thrown at your mother and sister all the time. I’ve gone through all of it. I want no confrontation with Amrita. She was, and will remain, an integral part of my life. I want her and my kids to be happy."

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh were once madly in love with each other. They wanted to be with each other so much so that they eloped in 1991. However, destiny had different plans for them, and after two lovely children, the couple parted ways in 2004. While Saif shared his side of the story openly in the media, Amrita chose to maintain a dignified silence, which is hard for any woman to do so. However, in an old interview, Amrita shared the reason why she never talked about what happened.

When Saif and Amrita parted ways, the former openly shared how things went downhill. In an old interview with Pooja Bedi for Zoom, Amrita was asked why she chose silence rather than share her side of the story. To which, Amrita stated that a lot has been openly said and done that she had nothing to say. She added that more than proving her point, she had to keep her mental peace as she had to handle her kids.
