Soha Ali Khan is one of the famous actresses in the Hindi film industry. The actress made her comeback on the silver screen after 7 years, with a horror movie, Chhorri 2. Soha has been praised for her role in the movie. Recently, the actress recounted a paranormal incident that happened in her ancestral home next to Pataudi Palace.
During the promotion of her film, Chhorri 2, Soha Ali Khan revealed a spooky incident that her family came across when they used to live in Peeli Kothi, which is their ancestral house next to Pataudi Palace. The actress revealed that she never faced anything spooky while being on the sets of her next upcoming film, but she surely heard of a real paranormal story that happened in her ancestral house, when the family was living there before shifting to Pataudi Palace. She said that while she was not present there, her great aunt was slapped by a ghost, in a way, that it even left a mark on her face, which was visible to others. In Soha's words:
"The reason cited for the sudden shift is a supernatural being. I don’t know how true that is because obviously, I wasn’t present then. But, apparently, my great aunt was slapped by a ghost and they could see the mark on her face."
While Soha Ali Khan belongs to the Pataudi family, unlike her brother, Saif Ali Khan, she doesn't have the title of princess. She revealed the reason behind the same. Talking to Housing.com, Soha Ali Khan shared that her grandfather, Iftikhar Ali Khan, was the Nawab of Pataudi, and her grandmother, Sajida Sultan, was the Begum of Bhopal. Saif Ali Khan was born in 1970, and by then, their father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi got a privy purse from the Government of India, and he was allowed to use the nawab title till 1971. As Saif was born in 1970, he got the title of Prince. Soha, on the other hand, couldn't get the Princess tag since she was born in 1987, and by then the royal titles were abolished.
Pataudi Palace is owned by the Pataudi family and is situated in Haryana's Pataudi. The Palace served as a set for several Bollywood films such as Veer Zaara, Mangal Pandey, Eat Pray Love, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and Animal. Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and the entire Pataudi family often reach Pataudi Palace for their vacation. If the reports are to be believed, the Pataudi Palace has a cost of Rs. 800 crores.
In a conversation with Cyrus Broacha, Soha Ali Khan revealed that her mom, Sharmila Tagore often sits with the hisaab-kitaab of the Palace and she has an idea about the daily and monthly expenditure. She also revealed that they have opted for whitewashing their Palace, instead of painting it, to save money. Soha had earlier revealed that she has to pay for the maintenance of the generator room, which belongs to her.
