Smriti Mandhana's Wedding Postponed After Her Father Suffers Heart Attack Hours Before The Big Day

The most-awaited wedding festivities of Indian cricketer, Smriti Mandhana, with music composer, Palash Muchhal, have been postponed due to a family emergency. The Mandhanas, who were preparing for the big day of their daughter, faced the biggest blow as Smriti's father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli.

As per Tuhin Mishra, Smriti Mandhana's business manager, the family was preparing for the wedding when Srinivash Mandhana suffered a heart attack at the farmhouse. He was rushed to the hospital, causing tension and fear among the family. Meanwhile, the wedding has been postponed.

Smriti's father is admitted to the private hospital in Sangli, and is currently being treated on an urgent basis. Sources close to the family confirmed that Smriti and her immediate family members are also in the hospital, as soon as they got the news. As of now, her father's condition is stable. However, the management informed the media that today's ceremony has been called off, and no one knows when the wedding festivities will resume. 

The planned marriage between Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal has been postponed, and decorations at the Samdol wedding venue are being removed. The couple's family has requested privacy during the tough times as they want to focus all their attention on the recovery of Srinivas Mandhana.

For those who don't know, Smriti and Palash were expected to get married on November 23, 2025, with their close family, friends in attendance. Many members of the Women's cricket team were with Smriti during her celebrations. In fact, pictures and videos from the couple's Bollywood-like celebration were surfacing on the internet, and her fans were eagerly waiting for her to get married. The internet witnessed a vibrant haldi and mehendi ceremony of the couple. The two families also held a friendly cricket match, giving the new-age wedding vibes. 

When Palash Muchhal proposes to Smriti Mandhan at a stadium

For the unversed, Palash officially proposed to Smriti at a stadium. The cricketer looked the prettiest in red dress. Her eyes were blindfolded with an eye mask and her fiancé, Palash, held her hand and guided her to the spot. He looked handsome in a black shirt and grey blazer. Further, Palash could be seen getting down on his knees as he proposed to his ladylove with a ring. Smriti too had a 'forever band' for her to-be-husband.

Soon, the event was graced duo's family members and friends, who rooted for them in the stadium, and we could also see Palak Muchhal, Palash's sister, being present there and congratulating the to-be-married duo. Palash was also seen celebrating the joyous event with a dance.

Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana kept their relationship away from the media glare. They first met each other in 2019, due to their mutual friends in Mumbai. It is reported that the two initially bonded over their shared interests in music and sports, which eventually became the foundation of their romantic relationship.

In fact, their relationship came into the spotlight when Palash flaunted his special tattoo, dedicated to his wife-to-be, Smriti, during the Women's Team's World Cup match. For the unversed, Palash inked his arm with the 'SM18' tattoo, which includes his to-be-wife's name initials and jersey number.
