Smriti Mandhana Recalled How People Taunted Her Parents, Told Her Father, 'No One Will Marry Her'

Indian cricket team’s star player, Smriti Mandhana, is leading the headlines currently after she postponed her wedding with her fiancé, Palaash Muchhal. The duo was supposed to get married on November 23, 2025, however, the wedding was postponed indefinitely after her father fell sick suddenly. However, as per multiple reports, Smriti’s fiancé, Palaash, allegedly cheated on her.

Smriti Mandhana’s parents were told that nobody would marry their daughter

Smriti Mandhana is the pride of the entire nation as she is the star cricketer of the Indian Women’s cricket team. However, her journey in cricket was never easy. But thankfully, her parents never left her side and supported her throughout. During her appearance in the quiz-based reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Smriti spoke about the difficulties she faced and said:

“The people taunted my parents, and said, If she gets tanned, no one will marry her. Only the better part was that they never left me at the receiving end. They allowed me to play.”

Both Smriti’s father, Shrinivas, and her brother, Shravan, are cricketers and were district-level players for Sangli. In the same interaction, Smriti revealed how her father wanted his children to be cricketers and shared:

“Both my father and brother were cricket-lovers since their childhood. It was dad’s dream to… His family did not give him a chance to do the sport. His dream was to see his two children play cricket and at least one of them play as Indians.”

Why was Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal’s wedding postponed?

Smriti Mandhana’s wedding functions came to a halt after her father showed heart attack-like symptoms as he had pain on the left side of his chest. The family members immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital. After staying in the hospital for two days, Smriti’s father is discharged now. But reports claim that the wedding has been permanently called off now, alleging that Palaash cheated on Smriti. 

Did Palaash Muchhal cheat on Smriti Mandhana?

After Smriti’s father was hospitalised, there was a lot of drama claiming that Palaash had cheated on Smriti. A girl named Mary D'Costa shared screenshots of flirty messages that she allegedly received from Palaash Muchhal. In the screenshots, Palaash was seen having flirtatious conversations with Mary. 

However, it was also reported that Palaash was seen getting close to another girl, which led to an altercation between him and Smriti’s father. During the quarrel, Shrinivas suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. It is now stated that Smriti and Palaash’s wedding has been completely called off.
