On April 22, 2020, Smriti Khanna had posted the transformation collage of her pre and post-pregnancy selfie and we were awestruck with the drastic change. Smriti had captioned her post as “Amazed at what the human body can do!! 1st pic was taken one week before I gave birth. Second pic, a week after I gave birth. My inbox is flooded with questions from new moms and moms-to-be. I’ll try and make a video soon answering all of them. Thank you for so much love and blessings for our little one #postpartum #postpartumtransformation #newmom #mombod.” But instead of praising how amazingly she had transformed back to her old self, she had become a target of trolls for editing and reposting her old picture.
Smriti Khanna had posted an Insta story to show the trolls their right place and it was a perfect example of HOW IT NEEDS TO BE DONE! Giving a befitting reply, Smriti had first posted a mirror selfie on her Insta story and had written, “For people who think these pics are old, you really think I will put a cot in my room even before getting pregnant?” followed by a laughing emoji atop it. Later, she had uploaded a video flaunting her post-pregnancy body and had written, “To all the haters who think my pictures are edited” atop it. Smriti has also shared a mirror selfie on her Insta story, thanking her fans for their love.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Smriti Khanna had revealed how their first night with the baby at home was a nightmare and how things have changed since the little one arrived. She had stated, "Oh God! I can't even tell you. The first few days in the hospital, it was easy because you press a button and the nurse would come and take the baby. We had also kept a nurse for the baby but now she can't come because she is in Aurangabad. Now, I don't have help here. Sleepless nights we can still manage I guess but can't risk anyone just coming and taking care of the baby. It's been two days since we came home, the first night was so bad, it was a nightmare. In fact, I decided to exclusively breastfeed the baby but due to COVID situation sometimes it becomes so hard. I was doing that till the time I had nurses around me. I had thought that for the next six months, it is going to be this way but I don't know now... there are so many issues, the baby keeps crying, I keep wondering if I am doing anything wrong, recently, it was like 2:30 AM and the baby won't stop crying. We did everything to make sure the baby stops crying. At last, we got a Dabba with that formula, we have been watching YouTube videos. Everyone was running to make her stop crying and then finally she did." (Also Read: Smriti Khanna Reveals How Breastfeeding Her Newborn Daughter Is A Challenge Amid COVID-19 Situation)
